It's like something you'd see on Robbscelebs circa 1998.

Smooth.

He heard it and just glowered at us the rest of the way down the road. He looked like a sun-dried tomato.

Ha! Imagine taking umbrage at being called a rapist! (?????)

Calm down, the second sentence wasn't related to the first, it was just a story I remembered and found mildly amusing. If it will appease you, I shall edit a paragraph break into that post.

Tommy Sheridan is the worst because he engages his mouth without checking with his brain first, and this often seems to lead to him, you know, lying in court.

I never really find rape accusations all that funny sorry to say. I don't mind him - he's a "pinch of salt" guy, but can be a very inspiring speaker at times.

Also in my book he looks more like the Pepperami mascot than a sundried tomato. Suppose we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

It was the fact my mate got rape mixed up with perjury and I thought most people would get that, seeing as Sheridan's never been up on rape charges to the best of my knowledge, but it's fantastic that you completely misread the post so I've edited in a full explanation.

Just to put in my piece about various demographics talked about, round here I would agree with ianf that pretty much everyone in near by estates are voting Yes with 'middle class' mainly voting No. I've got a few 16 year old cousins voting Yes too. On my friends list on FB, young parents with young children all tend to be Yes as they feel it will be better for their child.

As for the Old Firm thing, I'm a Rangers fan and about 90% of my close mates are No where as every single mate that's a Celtic fan I know(plus absolutely loads on FB) are voting Yes. I know some idiotic Gers fans are No simply to preserve the Union etc with no other good reasons such as economy etc.

You're quite near me aren't you? I remember Kirkintilloch being mentioned. It's weird, a lot of people in my office are from there or thereabouts and have different views - young families I've met seem to be voting no, a lot of my Rangers fan mates and other Rangers men I've met from my area are voting yes, etc etc.

If Yes actually pulls off a victory it will be the most astounding triumph of democratic will I've ever seen. I mean, almost the entire media is on-board with Better Together (I think the Scottish Herald is the only publication that has come out for yes) and the UK government has rallied captains of industry to their cause (presumably motivated to protect their profit margins within the scandalously generous tax and land laws of the UK). IMO, it's pretty amazing that things are still so close. If it had been a fair fight then the yes side would be certain to win. If they still do in spite of the media and corporate machinery arrayed against them it will be quite the achievement.

Why can't people get so energized about voting in normal elections?

Well for the highlands anyway a lot of people don't bother because the lib dems have a crazy hold on the constituency and they feel there's no point in voting. It's a stupid POV obviously but I hear it a lot.

I have my fingers crossed for a no but I wouldn't say I'm confident that will be the result.

I'm not sure about the full implications of independence but I want to be as far removed from UKIP as possible.

Hmm.
