Pollsters got it wrong alright, this isn't even close. :fp:

I know Dave's going to announce something in the morning but he's got no chance of getting it past his backbenchers.

Eighthours is going to be incredibly smug if it's a massive No vote. :dread:

What's remarkable is that Glasgow, the UK's third biggest city, has elected to leave it.

I think a lot may get washed away when the No campaign win, a great deal of the middle classes will want the status quo to return.

When your third biggest city wants out though, perhaps that should act as a wake-up call to how peripheral a lot of the UK feel outside of the South East. You don't have to be an independence-seeking Scottish person to feel that way.

That's a fantastic soundbite Parksey, and an incredible stat when you think about it.

Will they care though? This alienation feeling has been around for a long while and the south east has seemingly been content to dismiss and ignore it. Can't see how one individual result in a larger referendum is going to change that, even if it is Glasgow.

Bitterly disappointed. I really don't hold much hope for any positive change in the wake of this now, Westminster is going to hand us our own arses now.

Nicola Sturgeon has conceded. It's over. Well, it's been over for a few hours but still.

Even though I never actually expected Yes to win, I'm surprisingly dissapointed about this. :(

Why her and not Salmond? (Or to be fair the actual leader of the Yes Campaign)?

Edit - Nevermind, just seen he's talking now.

Well that was all a load of hot air then wasn't it?

To the casual observer (me) this whole thing appeared to be a massive vanity project for that Alex Salmond. It seems he wanted to go down in history as the man who broke up the Union, regardless of whether it was the right move for Scotland or not.

Will probably be another 300 years before we have to go through all that shite again

Rule Britannia etc

Got to have respect for Salmond - in his concession speech, he still managed to sound like the smuggest man in the world when talking about the late promises made about Devo Max! It's almost like that's what he wanted all along... ;)

Well done to the people of Scotland. For now, I think they've made the right decision.

Personally, now I think it was the wrong one. At least we might have the Scots onside if we storm Westminster together. Democracy in the UK is broken and we need a new deal for everyone.
