My brother texted me about this earlier. I don't have an aerial so I'll be downloading this after I've watched ep1 and 2 on youtube.

Welcome to my world.

Fantastic episode tonight, but maybe not for some of you guys. For me, every few seconds it was a case of, "Yep, me. Yep, me as well. strawberry float, yep, me too."

It wasn't particularly funny, but it contained a peculiar amount of truth.

I thought exactly the same. This is what I've been doing for 8 weeks. :fp:

Missed this. But I love the Brooker! Reading Dawn of the Dumb just now - top stuff!

Two exclamation marks. And the entire post is not your style at all. Something fishy is going on here...

It was a little too self-indulgent I thought, I'm also interested in becoming a screenwriter of some sort but it sort of depressed me in that sense.

I really know gooseberry fool about writing as it is and had little expectations such a pipe dream would be achievable but after watching those selected writers, who had written some of my favourite British shows, discuss some of the difficulties about writing I left it with a sour mood.

Plus it would have been far better if it was a regular Screenwipe with a couple of shorter interviews with some writing talent and they told you at the end that the full interviews were available online if you were interested in getting into TV writing.

That was gooseberry fool. 50 minutes of people just...talking, with absolutely nothing to break it up. And in a comedy show! :fp: I agree with Cuttooth.

It had interesting moments, and if it was called "How to Write a TV Show" instead of "Charlie Brookers Screenwipe", I'd be singing it's praises. But as an episode of Screenwipe, it lacked Charlie's humour.

It might have been funnier but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as interesting.

I happened upon this by chance last night. It was the pep talk I desperately needed.

I've been looking at screenwriting courses today. Last night's show has inspired me to learn some technical screenwriting skills rather than fannying about.
