Best season yet imo. Getting quests from your own boat is a god send then you get teleported (via your boat diving under water which looks spectacular) to an island that your quest is based around, or, the first part if it's multi-tiered. Same with all the Tall Tales and Monkey Island stuff you get teleported to their start points.
Of course you have to sail to an outpost to cash in but if you have 20-30mins to spare you can get it all in and keep building up that trading company - also, there's been a huge increase in how much XP you gain in this update, 3 chests in the gold hoarders update had big gains in that trading companies XP wheel, it used to be barely noticeable. Also, while on an Island looking for treasure (with X marks the spot maps) I had to kill some skellies, ghosts and sea creature enemies and that also added to my coins and XP.
Sea of Thieves sets sail to PlayStation®5 on April 30th, opening our seas to more pirates than ever before! Learn about what this means directly from the Rare crew themselves.
Best 'online only' game I've ever played, feels like an offline game, the quests (tons of them now) are completely devoid of enemy players.
I still play on the High Sea's servers as I'm approaching Pirate legend levels and Safer Sea's get's you to level 40 in each discipline, and slower also. Most ships leave you alone.
Yeah, I'd like to give this a go. I recall Pedz, Ben and Matt getting up to all sorts of stuff... some of it was pretty funny . It seemed that PvP ship battles could be tough, though. I think I'd like to set out on the Safer Seas mode.
Well if you ever need a captain to guide you through the ropes I'm here.
Game also has a brand new tutorial which covers most things.
Brand new players who dare the High sea's will most likely try and fight, I'm hoping this is the case because I'm pretty decent now even on my own on THE RED PEARL!
I only ever managed to get a full crew of 4 together once, but it was great fun. Wasn't such a fan of it in solo, and even 2 player felt a bit of a step down.
I'm getting REAL close to Pirate Legend now, you need to be Level 50 in 3 of the trading companies.
I'm Level 48 in Gold Hoarders, Level 49 in Order of Souls and Level 46 in The Merchant Alliance. It was a double XP weekend so rinsed the Merchant Alliance mostly because it is the most cumbersome of the 3 but the Seafort's are great fun to play, even on my own I enjoy beating the waves and the mexican style music is amazing.
The update roadmap looks to be a huge boost for single players, spawning skellies to help you is amazing!
(I foresee a huge problem, it gets busy at the start of a new season but with PS5 owners joining Season 12 at the same time it could be a nightmare)
I won't be picking it up at launch, Phote - I'll give it a little while and see how the online is performing! I'd like to go out on the seas at some point, though :-).
Uh-oh. Purchasers of the £60 Premium Edition on PlayStation get to play the game from 10am. But... maintenance has been scheduled for 10am . The Sea of Thieves X/Twitter thinks that the game unlocks at 2pm but the PlayStation Store has a countdown saying it's now roughly 22 minutes away!
