January has been our biggest month yet in terms of MAU, or Monthly Active Users. That's the most people we've had playing in a single calendar month, which is incredible seeing as we've been out nearly three years now. (...) We also saw our highest CCU, which is Concurrent Users, so people playing at the same time, since around the launch in March 2018 which was when we hit our original peak. So since then this has been our highest, which is incredible.
I definitely think this year is gonna be our biggest yet (...) We're all-in as a team, and as a studio, on Sea of Thieves. Actually, the team size now is the biggest it's ever been. (...) We just want to make Sea of Thieves as big as it can be and continue to grow that audience, and that means growing that team that comes along with it, which is super exciting.
Good to see it's still doing great. Still hoping for a single player campaign down the line eventually

I've been playing this on the XSX last night, but always have a problem with people trying to Gank me.
Might have to team up with some of you soon.
Put me right off after successfully navigating to an island, nailing the parking of the ship (not too close not too far away) and finding the treasure, only for some pricks waiting near the gold hoarders tent for your return.
I'm trying to have fun and learn the game here lads, don't be pricks.
End up scuttling the ship and heading elsewhere.
I kinda wish I could turn PvP off.
Might have to team up with some of you soon.

I've had both encouraging encounters with people helping me and people being absolute dicks.
I've twice tried to take down one of those Ashen Guardians with my daughter, they take a lot of time to take down and twice a galleon rocked up and killed us... They could have joined in (had friendship flag up) and reaped similar benefits just helping us but nope...
I'm generally okay with these things, I mean, I play DayZ a lot were you can get domed and killed instantly from friends and foe, hell you can get sniped from nowhere and I have been double crossed hundreds of times but it's hard now for my daughter to enjoy Sea of Thieves when 2-3hrs of work has ended up with no reward.

Mostly find people are dicks on this too. I always fly the alliance flag, shout that I am friendly to other players approaching etc but it doesn't seem to matter. I've had ships flying the alliance flag just attack my ship on sight, and on numerous occasions I've had solo players trying to sneak onto my ship to kill me and steal stuff - one of them ran off with a Tall Tale item trying to urge me to chase after him which was pretty shitty.
What I find helps now is to always play with the largest ship, as it tends to make the smaller ships sail away from me more often (they assume there's a larger crew on board). Also, when on the verge of completing a Tall Tale or loot session, I open the crew up to randoms to help protect me in the final stretch.
Although one time that didn't work out too well when a crew member decided to troll the rest of us by throwing loot off the back of the ship while we were on our way to deliver it to an outpost
I also have a policy now of no mercy for these people. If they strawberry float me over, I spend the rest of the gaming session getting payback
Still love this game though
