How is the solo/single player experience these days?

Just out of interest why would anyone play this game for single player? It’s built around groups right?

Row boats and skeleton ships yes, but they don't to me add that much to the game. Like it's great fun, but for the effort me and Matt put into taking two down tonight we got 1 chest. No idea what happened to the second sinking ships loot. I've used row boats once or twice, but they aren't game changers, the just make it a little quicker to get treasure back to the ship idlf you have a fair whack of it and it's quicker than doing multiple trips swimming. Again, they stuff added seems good, but I don't see a massive change the game is still you have fun with what you make of it, there's no real direction.

New area? The volcanos? I liked them, kind of. Like I would regularly get shot in the air by geysers and die a lot, though it looked ace and was really cool.

I don't think the game is bad, far from it, but, it's literally go here get loot, go there get loot, go over there and trade in loot.

My main problem with this game is there's not much to do for a crew while sailing, fishing and/or harpooning is being touted for a while and I think it would make a huge difference. Sailing alone is busy enough to keep you going.

Is there any sort of regular community for this on here? I was thinking of picking up a gold sub using the £2 for 2 months promotion, but this is one of the few games that really appeals to me (i'm not into MP shooters etc). Do any of you guys get together regularly? I have quite a lot of free time over the next few evenings so thought i would ask.

None of us play together unfortunately. I play almost entirely alone.

Played some Arena earlier. Other than being slightly confusing at first it's very good.

Hopefully the griefers who have put me off the game a bit of late will strawberry float off in there when it launches.

I reckon they might do so, 20 player, 5 galleons and a couple of islands and drop offs. Also, lots of new stuff to do and new things to use on boats. I'm under NDA.

Add me on xbl The Doom Spoon. Me and a couple mates play all the time, we've put in well over 300 hours each and really love the game. Been playing since day one and on really often and are currently smashing forts and reapers quests. Helping one of my mates to Pirate Legend before the 20th of March.

We're all really friendly and always looking for crew members!

Ah, that's good to know, thanks! Next time there is a Gold promotion on I may subscribe. Appreciate the offer.

An Insider re-launch? Bizarre, unless they have a MASSIVE amount of things to add I don't really see the point.

This weekend is a bank hol weekend for us Irish folk (paddies day) so this is more than welcome.

today we're officially relaunching the Sea of Thieves Insider Programme, which now incorporates features previously only available to Pioneers. Better yet, as Joe mentioned in last week's Developer Update, it's open to everyone.

What makes this brand new Insider Programme even sweeter is the addition of rewards! By playing Insider builds regularly, you can earn in-game gold, Doubloons and some very snazzy, very exclusive cosmetics that you can show off in the main game. (Note that while Insider rewards carry over to the main game, general progress in the Insider builds is separate from your progress in the main game.)

I'm in the insider program (pioneer tile changed to a snazzy insider one) but it's glitched, says I need to purchase the game to launch, they said it should be fixed by tomorrow.

Had great fun on this last night, doing an Athena(?) Quest with Doom, Slam and Matt. strawberry floating hard work with all them bloody volcanos though. We also came across some other pirate soloing and we become an alliance, he came aboard our ship and we all played some music, had a drink and all that jazz.

Still a hell of a ways off Pirate Legend though.

Didn't finish till half 3 in the morning.

And this is why it's the most wonderful game of this generation!

Yea you're right Pedz it was an Athenas, a Devils Roar Athenas to be exact, regular ones aren't nowhere near that hazardous... That is until this weekend. Just word of warning. Careful out here on the seas guys!

The double rep/gold weekend has brought loads of people to the game and especially ones who are close to pirate legend. It's also encouraging players to hit any ship in site in the hope they can steal your loot and benefit from selling it for themselves. Very little alliances being made (which I think is silly as a server alliance take over would make unreal rep/gold this weekend!).

Also don't even attempt to solo Athenas quests this weekend unless you get very lucky on a quiet / decent hearted people server.
