For clarification- we never reveal who we are. This "secret Santa" thing isn't just until we receive the gift. The person never finds out who the gift is from. Correct?

It stays a secret until after Christmas, at which point the organiser posts a big revealof who bought for who.

Of course it's up to you if you put something like a clue in with your gift, or even just flat out say who you are in a card or something.

And if you open before Christmas day, your are scum.

IIRC basically went ‘Wow everyone else got some really awesome gifts I’m mad Jelly’

So he didn’t directly slam his gifts but made it clear he was disappointed/thought they were sub par

I think he apologised pretty quickly after as he'd realised it wasn't in the spirit of it all.

Yeah that’s true and worth stressing

He came off badly but more through forcing both his feet into his mouth and showing feelings than being overtly and directly rude/ungrateful
