The way I did it,

Christmas Day Safe - Yes meant they could get rude stuff etc.

No - couldn't.

Hope that's right, otherwise there could be some awkward christmas day openings this year :lol:

Can you search for a post author but exclude posts in specific threads? My target has been active in a lot of threads which aren't really great topics for Christmas gifts, but these posts obfuscate the posts in threads which will give me actual gift buying ideas.

I think I have a decent plan to go with but I'd like to see if I could refine my searching more.

Not as far as I know, you’d need to put specific keywords in to see a more specific post.

A good tip to help is to Google:
"GRCADE +*Forum member name* +*hobby*

And it'll bring up some results for those three.
For example, if you search "GRCade +LewisD +airsoft" you'd get this:

Abd if you search for..
GRCade +Ad7 +PS4
You should get all posts that Ad has made with PS4 in the results.
But it's not perfect, there's a lot of mismatches to wade through. But might help.

Prefix any Google search with:

Code: Select all

site:grcade.co.uk

To make Google only return results from the forum and then you can go crazy with your search criteria after that

Gutted I missed this, I'll still keep an eye on SS though always been an amazing event to take part in each year.

I could try Googling with "site:grcade.co.uk" and "NOT thread title" I suppose. I can't search for the specific hobby because that's what I'm looking for! I think I have a decent idea for my target anyway but I'll use this to confirm my plan...

Been having a think for my giftee today. Would we be okay to get things shipped directly to them (maybe with their forum name referenced on the address to prevent early opening)?

Don't think I want to risk getting something shipped to me only to then send it back out. Plus I am moving before Christmas so would cut down the time I had available to do this.

I usually ship direct each year to save the hassle and risk of me not sending it on quickly enough.

I’ve settled on what I’m buying my victim now!

Ordered one main item and going to pick up a couple of little bits in town tomorrow to go alongside it and just hope the research of reading posts from 2012 pays off. :slol:

Been slowly adding to my victim's research file over the weekend, think I've got a few solid leads to go on now! :toot:

I'm still researching my victim, just because I've had a number of ideas and need to whittle them down!

I'm gonna have a bit more of a think about what to get mine. Have a couple of "risky" ideas but I'm worried they may already have it or I may get the less-than-ideal version. Might take a punt coz if they don't have it it'll be a good gift and we can always return after christmas and get something else....

Will decide and send next week.
