This is still going?
I just had a look on Wiki and it says this was first released in 2004 so giving it a 4 year development time we could have people who have been working on this game for 20 years.
That's pretty amazing.

Another expansion is due soon called the Shadowlands that looks interesting.

So the Shadowlands release date has been confirmed as October 27th

https://www.gameinformer.com/gamescom-2020/2020/08/27/world-of-warcraft-shadowlands-releases-october-27

I personally haven't played since the end of Patch 8.2. I think it was around the tail end of last year that it ran out. I was planning on re-subbing for 8.3, but the overall theme - and complaints about the quests for the Visions of N'Zoth - put me off so I didn't bother in the end.

I'm really interested in the new customisation options that are being introduced - especially for Dwarves. Although my 'main' is a Dwarf hunter, I was playing a Dwarf paladin at the time my sub ran out because - although I'd largely ignored paladins since TBC - I found that the play-style really suited me. I like the resource usage and abilities for DPS and tanking, plus a good amount of self-healing and emergency get out of jail free cards for PvP. So although I don't really like playing 'religious' style classes, I found the play-style suited me enough to ignore it.
So when I return my Paladin will be swiftly customised to look like a Wildhammer!

My dwarf hunter has probably spent the most time as my 'main' throughout the expansions. My warrior was my main for good a period of time in Cata and what little I played of WoD, but I got tired of the lack of self-healing in PvP and the inability to solo much in PvE. My rogue probably has the most playtime after that.

However, like most. I used the restored old-school AV last year to level up a good chunk of my characters to 120. That was probably the most fun I've had in the game in years

I also didn't like how professions were handled in BfA so I really hope they change for the better in Shadowlands. I really haven't been keeping up-to-date with the news recently to know what's changing though.

Here is a brief overview of the level-squish and new levelling mechanics in Shadowlands by Eurogamer:

Shadowlands Pre-Patch incoming tomorrow. Includes the character level squish (120 down to 50), brand new levelling experience, a multitude of new character customisation options and the usual miscellaneous class changes usually associated with each new expansion. I haven't personally been keeping up-to-date with the class changes, but I'm lead to believe Shadow Priests and Enhancement Shaman are getting the biggest overhauls.

Well. It's finally come. That's me done with it, Haven't played much recently and I've just watched Pints new video and it just nailed it. Even without the gooseberry fool drama going on now, The game that I loved is gone. Heading back to where I had the most fun, Wintergrasp and I'm logging out and unsubbing.

An oldie (WoW console edition rumours) but a goodie. But I guess that could be one way to get new subs rolling in.

Seen this before, Would it be Retail? Classic or what? Also - Think it'd be very hard to announce something like that especially with what's going on at Activision/Blizz right now.

Still, will keep an eye on it :shifty: :slol:

Original post has been deleted now though

It was details on the base code to add World of Warcraft Complete Editon as a listing to the "upcoming games" section on 9th December on the Xbox store, same day as The Game Awards.

But yeah, Activision are in a bad place right now so not sure what kind of reaction this would get

Heh. Cute video.

I wonder how long cross-faction chat, when out and about outside of those, will remain taboo...

Once in a party together, members of the opposite faction will remain unfriendly while in the “outdoor” world (and fully hostile in War Mode!), as they do today, though they will be able to communicate through party chat. Upon entering a dungeon, raid, or rated PvP match, however, all members will be friendly and able to assist each other in combat, trade loot, earn shared achievements, and otherwise fully cooperate the same way members of the same faction have always been able to.

I mean it makes sense in a way from a canonical point of view. There will be some members of opposing factions friendly with members of the other faction. Tauren's and Night Elves don't really have a beef with each other, for example. However, Blizzard's implementation is a bit weird in that it doesn't full respect that. I think the member of the opposing faction who is in your party should also be 'friendly' out of the instance - while still in your party - rather than suddenly running into an enemy as soon as you are out of the instance.

If I was being pessimistic, this could be Blizzard seeing the writing on the wall and putting this workaround to account for big population imbalances as the player numbers continue to decrease.
