I did ponder returning after they spoke of servers possibly hosting the original game, but apparently that'd be quite difficult to do... er, because. I doubt I'd have seen the month's sub out, though, would just return for sake nostalgia and then realise it's the people I miss and they're no longer there either.

I tried WoD, thought it was gooseberry fool, and quit pretty quickly, despite loads of people I used to play with coming back, no one was really bothered by the whole thing, and the lack of content and the freemium garrison make it not worth your time to even try.

Anyhow I was going through some things the other day and found some old screen shots, I was disappointed there were not more but if anyone is interested here are a couple that I quite liked from my Vanilla days (all in 4:3)

I remember when the System Requirements for WoW listed Windows 95.

I miss proper Warcraft with proper talent trees pet trees having to buy new abilities for pets minions and you, buying arrows and things.

So much better having to actually work for stuff!

The talent trees are what I miss the most really. They allowed your character to be somewhat unique and for you to have your own style of play.
Raid elitists ruined that though.

One thing is as they improved the game they streamlined things so you were not forced into speaking to people, which basically killed the community of it all.

I loved being one of the elitist raiders. Used to spend hours reading the spreadsheets so I could make my characters the best I could. People used to come to me on my server for advice on how to play a Disc Priest and it was great.

Im still playing :p

Is a fan designed thing, but it looks awesome! Really liked Duskwood.

Ya, me and Qikz are probably gonna go watch it as soon as we can. The hope is real!!!

I'm going to go and see it, but I'm keeping hype levels low.

Legion is out, as of 11pm yesterday and I've got my Scythe of Elaine on my Druid and done some questing. Starting the weapon quest for my pally now.

Out already? For some reason I was convinced it wasn't out until October.

Think I'll probably re-sub and give it a try, cdkeys are doing it for £25.99.

First time I haven't been bothered about an expansion, Think I'm finally over it....

Same, I would play it but I just know it willbe boring and I will be pissed at the fundamential issues with the dumbed down game.
