I got given a Scroll of Resurrection, so my level 34 Paladin I hadn't touched for 3 years got a boost to 80 as well as getting all the expansions for free.

I have no idea what I'm doing.

Yeah I got a Scroll of Resurrection but before boosting one of my current characters to 80 I just created a new preist and boosted them. Then realised there was no point as I don't know what half my spells do/quests I've missed.

Ended up using it for farming mats for my new Lvl60 warrior and lvl30 mage.

Got a guest pass with Diablo 3. I might check this out. I tried playing this before (aswell as other MMOs) but I always give up near the start. I take it these kind of games get more interesting as time goes on?

Yeah, depending on when you tried to play before it's alot quicker to level up now so you might find it a bit better than you remember. Alot of the areas have been redesigned when Cataclysm came out.

I boosted my tauren warrior to level 80, and I had a similar problem. Whenever I go into an instance I just spam all the hotkeys. Still, being able to fly around Azeroth is nice. I don't think I'll be paying for a subscription though, it's every bit as boring as I remember it being, except now the servers seem to be more or less dead.

I'm considering start to play World of Warcraft, although I can't remember my password/details info for my old account so I will have start anew...

The problem is I'd rather to play on server where good number of GRc is on; I don't do raids (and if I do it'd be casual; not religiously) and just would like to chat while I quest. Also is things easier for MMO casual player? I'll never be main MMO player but did enjoy my time with World of Warcraft (and Star Wars The Old Republic, but I'm waiting for that to go FtP... yeah will take while, but whatever).

Free trial going up to Lv20 sounds good, gonna go Tauren again <3

Tauren

Depending on when you last played WoW, the solo side of it (levelling) will get you through the game really quickly, it's a bazillion times easier then back in Vanilla

I played it when that 'frozen' expansion was out or little before that, and little after that, maybe about 2009/2010. The only thing I'd like to get back from my old account is my expansion (the one with blood elf and some purple huge guys), but meh I'd glad to be able to reach Lv60 as Tauren. edit: Ah nifty, all original WoW copies come with expansion. So I guess if I do end up wanting to play past Level 20 I'll purchase that.

1-60 is easy, I can do it in probably 2-3 days now - 6-70 is a little slower and I find 70-80 a bit of a nightmare (Northrend never seemed to give my exp for questing - 80 to 85 when like a breeze mind you)

If you haven't played it since 2010 you might not have changed your Warcraft account over to a battle.net one (If so then you need to do a password recovery for the WoW account then merge the a/c with your curent battle.net one that you use with D3)

If you can find your old a/c then you might be bale to take advantage of a scroll of resurrection (which will upgrade you to Cataclysm and can have cahracter change server and level one up to 80 right away)

Sadly, I've linked it to one of older B.net accounts which I could never remember how to get in, and to be able to recover it I need to call customer service. I'd rather not hassle my mum about it, and I've already linked my copies of Diablo 2 games & Diablo 3 to my current account.

I didn't lose much tbh, I only had Lv24~Lv26 Druid Tauren with crap loot.

I've been seriously tempted to give Wow another shot over the past few days. :shifty:
I enjoy my time with it but I never can be bothered with all the grouping and stuff. I'm much more content to take in the world and just explore and level up my character.

We'll see. Got a week off coming up and Wow would be a nice way to waste it. :D

Well, there we go. Hit Lv12, and decided I want to play more as well be part of guild, so I bought full version (£9.99 for original+first expansion & free month) and now I'm really enjoying it.

Being Hunter is so fun, can't wait until I can get another pet/better pet to fight on my side when I take down enemies with my rifle/bow  Already got into guild and figured why not to join, was worried it'd be just some guild going "lol we have alot of members" but already met nice people who's willing to help me so win there.

All in all I'm glad to be part of WoW - especially it appeals to casual player like myself for MMOs

I'm so glad I'm over my addiction on this now. I think about it every day, but the thought of playing it just doesn't interest me now. :D

Although I'll always say that my best gaming memories came on this game.

Hell, can you?

Over several tries i never got my lad past early 50's, it was such a slog and i wasn't really grouping enough and got bored. This was a few years ago though.

Might even have a look myself at some point then. I wonder if they'll give me a scroll as i don't have cataclysm?

I think they sent me one some time back and i got rid. doh.

You need to have someone playing now gift you a scroll. I'm sure there's someone on the forum who's still entitled to a scroll sending that can sort you out!

Even if it's only for a little period, I'd be happy to jump onto the same server to play alongside a group of you if you're all going into same server for a bit

I was thinking some kind of GRcade revival and start bunch of new characters on same server, and start guild together - would be nice but again, it might be kind of pain :P

I'm considering leaving my guild already. :\ Guess there's only few people that are actually nice/talkable, I try to be talkable but rest are just too busy with WoW gaming. Oh well, I'll stick with it as I'm only lv17 and could do with tasty guild perks :slol:
