I've been tempted by this! The reviews seem positive and the videos look good. This or sniper v2, or one of my other backlogged games?!

Playing through this for the first time on PC. The game is awesome. It's scandalous why this hasn't been a big hit. Scandalous!

Yep, just been having a bash on this on the PC. It's like Gears of War but better.

What's this about voice controls?

Ordered.

Quite fatigued with shooters generally speaking but this seems to be a bit different, so I'm willing to give it a shot. And I'll be needing games to play over the Summer.

strawberry float em! They don't work, but strawberry float it! Set the option to off and use the keys to issue commands. Does the job and the missus doesn't have to hear me yelling at the monitor repeatedly in desperation with an American accent.
Job done.

I got this at the weekend from ShopTo. I've put in a couple of hours so far and I'm surprised that this didn't do better as it looks like it'll kick the arse out of a lot of other 3rd person shooters out there.

The voice controls work fine for me (which is a first, actually) and I like the upgrade/team mechanic. Story's good too, that first cutscene where you see a 'Hollow Child' was quite chilling.
£12.85? Christ, I'd have been happy paying £30 for it. Excellent stuff.

Played about 20 minutes of this yesterday. Impressions:

- The voice stuff really doesn't work at all does it?
- The art style is bland as hell.
- Annoying big guy is annoying
- The aim-jerk when you get hit makes me want to tear my face off.

Not good so far. Not good.

I didn't have an issue with it, but did revert to the standard button method for issuing commands just because I couldn't be arsed shouting at the telly.

Horses for courses. I thought it was a decent-looking game with some nice environments. Nothing particularly striking (though boss design is strong) but nothing to moan about either.

Granted I'm only 20 minutes in, but the robots I've fought so far are just awful looking from a design point of view. They're just men...coloured green.

If you entirely ignore the way they move, behave and blow apart, sure.

Less "ignore" more "didn't particularly notice." They certainly do all those things you mention, but I completely failed to note anything interesting about the way they do them.

Oh, apart from the post-death, single-polygon-throwing explosions looking horrible

RockPaperShotgun don't like it at all:

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/05/02/wot-i-think-binary-domain/

"But I hated playing it. I think I’d prefer if it had just been a dumb action game, because then I wouldn’t have been infuriated by its incessant annoyances, mostly terrible script, and ludicrous flip-flopping “twists”. And boy, if its voice recognition could have recognised the language I was screaming at it at its worst moments, I think it would have uninstalled itself."

One of the few things I disagree with in RPS then. I love this game. The way the robots rip apart when you shoot at them is incredibly satasfying and so far the story and characters beats anything that was in any of the Gears Of War games. Fantastic game!

It's one of the best third person shooters I've played in ages. Looking at the release schedule, only Resi 5 has a chance of topping it this year.

Resi 6 will have more chance.

I like BD, it doesn't look much but it's actually very well done and has more variety than a lot of similar games.

That as well, yeah.
