It was, my parents got it for me on launch day. I played the hell out of it and found virtual racing deluxe a bit dissapointing compared to it for some reason.

And was the cart for Micro Machines bigger as well because it had a pair of extra controller ports on it?

I always wondered why EA games had different carts, still don't actually know the reason for it.

Or the purpose of the little yellow tab thing.

Edit: nevermind.

Isn't it to get around the licensing costs with SEGA or something?

EA's Saturn games came in different boxes too, looked awful on the shelf next to my other games.

Acclaim weirdly had their own N64 boxes I've noticed. They didn't want to go through Nintendo's packaging centre it seams. Carts are the same but the inserts for the boxes are different. The design makes them way easier to crush.

More misses than hits there for me but the overall list will hopefully bring that back in line. Have they confirmed if this is having different games across regions?

So far we've got this: (unless I've missed another announcement)

- Shining Force
- Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
- ToeJam & Earl
- Comix Zone
- Sonic The Hedgehog
- Altered Beast
- Gunstar Heroes
- Thunder Force III
- Super Fantasy Zone
- M.U.S.H.A.
- World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck
- Bare Knuckle II/Streets of Rage 2
- The Hybrid Front
- Landstalker
- Contra Hard Corps
- Dyna Brothers 2: Sega Channel Special
- Game no Kanzume Otokuyou

Bloodlines being on this is great, but Bloodlines is also coming to the Konami Castlevania Collection. I don't know where that thread is, so I'll post that info here.

I actually cancelled my pre-order for this the other day. I tricked myself twice into thinking I'd play my NES and SNES Minis, but truth be told they're packed up in their boxes and most likely won't be played on for a very long time, and even then barely enough to justify the outlay. Same applies with this. I know I'd get it, play it for an evening and then pack it away.

That's the next ten for the Japanese version. The next ten announced for Europe are:

Castle of Illusion
World of Illusion
Thunder Force III
Super Fantasy Zone
Shinobi III
Streets of Rage 2
Earthworm Jim
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Probotector (Contra: Hard Corps)
Landstalker

Now that the Illusion games have been announced I'm hoping that QuackShot will also be announced. I'm also hoping for Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure.

Really excellent line up so far and 20 more games to be revealed. So much better than that PlayStation classic.

Well there's one great thing about failures and that's you can expect your competition to do a better job since you don't really get a second chance with these novelty releases (errrr let's forget all about those AtGames disasters).

Next 10 announced:

Mega Man: The Wily Wars
Street Fighter 2: Special Champion Edition
Sonic Spinball
Phantasy Star 4
Beyond Oasis
Ghouls 'N Ghosts
Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
Golden Axe
Vectorman
Wonder Boy in Monster World

Looking good, although Sonic Spinball is genuinely awful and should not be taking a valuable "Sonic slot" on this thing!

Forget the war, I think I could barely manage a skirmish these days!

The Eurogamer article about this latest batch of games does genuinely have it listed as the "willy wars" at the moment.

I loved spinball, you shut your mouth! :capnscotty:

Story of Thor  I have the original in the loft, but this makes it so much easier to play.

I'm going to do what I did with the snes classic when this turns up and put it straight in the loft and open it Christmas day. Already booked in an argument with the wife to play world of illusion on coop :datass:

I have very fond memories of Spinball, I played the absolute gooseberry fool out of it on my Game Gear during a family holiday back when it came out. But it is a bad game - it controls nothing like a normal Sonic game but also nothing like any decent pinball game either, the music is terrible and the graphics are hideous. I mean compare just these two sprites:

What the strawberry float is that monstrosity on the left?!
