I've been horribly misrepresented.

How can Game Gear be above Saturn, that is obviously factually incorrect.

No-one had a Saturn. NO-ONE. Having a Saturn made you an outcast. It doesn't deserve to be top ten solely for that reason alone!

Saturn was for real gamers 8-)

Really? I thought real gamers wanted, y'know, games. Proper, full-sized games too, not just arcade ports.

I had one. And largely hated the huge swathes of time between anything remotely good being released. Sure it had some good games, great games even - but they were so few and far between that the console was no classic. That said Sega Rally and Virtua Fighter 2 is still to this day two of my favourite games ever.

Excluding the last gen, then -

1. Playstation
2. SNES
3. N64
4. Saturn
5. Gameboy Advance
6. Megadrive
7. NeoGeo (honorary mention since nobody bloody had one - but oh, what I would have given!)
8. Gameboy
9. Master System
10. NES

... Is the only right answer.

No 3DO.

No Deal.

The oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class are to represent and repress them in parliament.

And the vastly superior games library, which had a size and variety that the Saturn could only dream of. It didn't help that the Saturn was a bitch to program for, having a weird architecture, or that 3D was an afterthought that was poorly implemented. Those games that managed to look good did it in spite of the hardware, not because of it.

The point is, the machine was dead before people really had the chance! I'm pretty naive to the tech arguments, however the games that were available we're a step above those available on the PS.

Retrose tinted glasses there, I feel. It had some good games, but if you look at say, Burning Rangers today, you'll realise that it's a horrible looking, totally unplayable mess.

A FANTASTIC idea, completely strawberry floated by the platform it was rendered on.

It was more popular in the UK, but saying that the PlayStation was even more popular.

I'd certainly have Playstation over N64 and (even though I had neither) SNES over Mega drive.

These polls are always wrong anyway. Just like award shows.

No saturn in that list makes it irrelevant

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

The Saturn wasn't really that good. You had to import to get the best out of it.

The Saturn was garbage. Where the strawberry float is the Dreamcast though?

This is wrong, the DC was released in 98 as well as stuff like Starcraft and Sonic Adventure.
