Definitely picking up one of the pads, the PS2 ones were quality (had them all except for Akuma which I couldn't find anywhere).

Arcade sticks are a bit out of my price range though :(

Just look at how awful it is. It's one big flaw.

Well it's better than -

And

And it was only out for about 4 months before being superceded, faster than either of the two above's replacements.

This is the Street Fighter controller of champions. It is basically MADE for that game.

Nope the 2nd gen Saturn pad is that pad. The SNES was just better than the three button Mega Drive one and then was owned by the six button Mega Drive pad.

Sorry. I should qualify that with IN MY OPINION, I guess.

I know for sure that I personally will take a SNES pad over just about any other controller.

You say 'just about' is that because you withhold an exception for the 2nd gen Saturn pad? :)

But it has the shoulder buttons for instantaneous access to the most powerful kicks and punches.

Seriously having the buttons all on the face of the pad is much easier and practical than the shoulder buttons. Even on SNES I would change the strong kick and punch from the shoulder buttons as they suck arse in that position.

I always preferred having the stron punches and kicks at my fingertips, without needing to move my thumb.

I set is so that the shoulder buttons have the weakest attacks, bottom left buttons are the mediums (Punch top, kick bottom) and the strongs are the upper right ones.

I actually bought one of those SF Anniversairy PS2 controllers for Street Fighter Alpha Anthology (The Chun Li one!) but I really didn't like the imprecise dpad :(

I can't seem to get on with arcade sticks in any case, much prefer pads.

I was thinking of some hypothetical direct brain wiring.
