We finally have a release date for the console versions (currently searchable on PlayStation Store UK) add to wish list but no pre order option yet.

Anyone else getting this?

To me it's a classic, I played it on N64 and then Dreamcast and it felt like a mature version of Ocarina of Time with collectibles, permanent upgrades and huge dungeons.

A very dark and gritty game with one hell of an ending and a huge world to explore.

Shadowman is back! :o

I loved this back in 1999 or whatever. It stood out on the N64 for being very a very "adult" third person game. A lot of tnemmoe mature games on the system tended to be racers or shooters.

It was massive, quite tricky and atmospheric. It was something I always intended to replay but never quite got around to, even though I did buy it again cheap for the Dreamcast years later.

My concern is that it has aged quite badly. It was very easy to end up lost and struggling to progress - picking out the dark souls (that name now carries a different meaning) you needed to open a door. Especially in the early game where your abilities were tempered, as I remember being at a dead end knowing I needed to get one of the tattoo powers but not having enough souls go open a door. The game really needed a map as it was all connected and a bit of a maze.

It's probably going to look quite blocky and brown nowadays too.

I never finished it as I got incredibly lost and turned around. It hasn't aged all that well either.

This one almost completely passed me by at the time. I played what must have been the PlayStation demo back in late 1999 I think it was because I recall playing it after Tomb Raider The Last Revelation, Silent Hill and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver and just thinking nothing of it.

Im usually pretty good at remembering review scores from that period but I’d genuinely have to look this one up, though I’m presuming the PS1 iteration was greatly inferior to the Dreamcast and N64 efforts.

I fear it might be a bit too late now. MediEvil on PS4 had a reasonably robust update and I found that janky, with irritating design quirks of the time (poor camera, checkpointing to send you round the twist).

Finally a release date i have been waiting for this all year such a good game on the N64. With a really good soundtrack too very atmospheric at times and very creepy certain some levels

Funnily enough I looked for a Switch release date yesterday and found nothing. I loved Shadowman back in the day so will no doubt take the plunge. I did play a version of it on Mac about four years ago but got stuck - couldn't get the hang of keyboard controls. Looks like they've done a decent job of brightening up the graphics.

I had this game on the N64, picking up shortly after release. It was a game I really enjoyed but I found it difficult to navigate and ended up getting very lost several times before giving up.

I remember completing this on the N64 so will pick this up if reasonably priced. Remember that it was really atmospheric - hoping it's still good to play like Doom64

Definitely interested in this. Completed it on the N64. Think it was the first game i bought the expansion pack for.
Scored low 90s in N64 mag.

See, that's interesting, because to me Shadowman (even though I didn't get it at the time) was a major release. On reflection that's probably due to the amount of coverage it got in N64 Magazine, and that was due to the relative sparseness of the console's release schedule. Whereas the other games you've mentioned (Tomb Raider aside) I've only heard of in the years since, but hadn't at the time. How different the 90s were depending on which console(s) you had!

Anyway, it's heartening to hear so many stories of people getting hopelessly lost and giving up on this game, because I played it several years ago and that's exactly what happened to me. :lol:

That’s kind of odd, Nightdive do have form for this though, huge differences in the Turok remasters release dates on different consoles but I thought that would stop when Quake released on everything at the same time.

I don’t think this looks good at all for a remaster. I remember Shadowman but never knew there was such a market for it

Are those videos remastered footage? It doesnt look much better than the N64 version. How much will it be on PS?
