First impressions are not good, the cut scenes are very low polygon. They are clear and indeed 4K but they were never that good anyway. The controls have been updated but still feel a little weird at first, you do get used to them after 20mins or so, I feared I wouldn’t at all but I’m find now.
It’s important to remember that you can equip your gun to you left or right hand and that determines which trigger you use to fire. Lock on is automatic usually but you can hold LB/L1 to make sure. While aiming press Y to toggle between enemies above or below.
For the boomers among us who loved the original this is essential. Away from the cut scenes and their jank it’s a truly gorgeous game, the lighting is stunning. All in all I was back running around the intertwining tunnels and hallways coupled with some platforming like back in the day. The sound track is as good as before and while the combat was always basic, it’s a little better here.
Can’t see this getting many new followers but I can’t wait to play more.
For Xbox Series owners it supports quick resume which is perfect for this.
Played a bit of it earlier it looks good imo the soundtrack and updated voices are good and its so atmospheric gonna dig more into it tomorrow and over the weekend
