That's the one. I tried poison, fire and begging but nothing works. My only real hope is that someone uploads a cheap and easy exploit to beatingng him and I see that on YouTube. Or I grind for hours and hours and unlock more high level skills and then go back and sort him out.

It's sad that I have spent more time in a random corridor at the gun fort grinding than I have in other locations.

I've also just downloaded DMC 5.... I'm putting off playing it as I feel that Sekiro is a game I need to stick with or I'll not return to it.

So much stuff unlocks after this boss too. It's so annoying knowing I could be seeing new areas and enjoying the game but instead.... Stuck.

What's really interesting is the publisher helped them make the game more accessible like the tutorial at the start. Can only imagine how much harder it would have been without their influence.

This is the first time in a long time I'm hitting significant walls and I don't know if I'm having fun or not. Maybe I'm coming at it wrong, but it feels as though I haven't learned anything yet. Bonus points for any tips I find basically just being "Did you know if you stab someone enough you'll kill them?".

I'll put more time in over the weekend to try and make a decent dent and hopefully suck less, but I have Devil May Cry sitting right there.

This is ridiculously difficult :x The timing is mental and if you mis time something you get hammered. Ive just learnt the stomp on their thrust move? And I'm at some sort of mini boss. I can stealth one deathblow but ffs i can't touch him after that.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Captain Kinopio wrote:This game ca get strawberry floated so hard. The centipede is such bullshit. The mechanics of this fight are utterly horrible and if I didn’t know better I’d say the enemy is cheating, waiting for the camera to be in as horrible a position as possible, which is all of the strawberry floating time, before doing an unblockable attack you can’t see.

Which Centipede is this? The one in the Gun Fort? That's the first boss I actually did really quickly, my second go actually. If it is that one he's the most rhythm game-y boss yet with his flurry. You need to block in the rhythm 1-2-3-4 *pause* 1-2-3-4-5 *pause* 1. Then, when he does his unavoidable floor sweep, jump on his head. Do this successfully twice and you'll be able to deathblow.

It's really a question of learning his patterns to the number and hoping he doesn't do the rapid-fire bowshot. The tip that got me through him was: never let up attacking. Don't hang back as this allows him time to do his more complex attacks. Also, he'll shoot you whenever you heal so learn the timing of the dodge for that. Still took me for strawberry floating ever though. gl hf

Where did you see this? I don't think that's...um, true.

I think it was a developer interview where they were asked what impact having a different publisher had made and if they had suggested any changes. They mentioned they had suggested a tutorial like opening. Sorry I can't remember where I saw it.

I'll try again with the bow guy. I've found a few more mini bosses so I could try them to get even more posture.

Ah. I saw a Did You Know video where the dev stated that after you press start, it's all FROM and that Activision were super hands off.

I...actually think I'm getting the hang of this. Defeated the ape in less than half an hour, and killed his second stage on the first try with zero gourds or rezzes left.

Yeah. I watched that before facing the centipede and it was no trouble at all because of the advice in that vid.

The Centipede you mentioned was not the one I was having trouble with. However I did manage to beat the strawberry floater after getting some tips off Reddit. I stand by the fact it's an appalling fight though.

It seems like for a lot of enemies there's one way to beat them and if you're not doing that they're basically impossible. I'm probably just salty and not good enough, but it makes for an immensely frustrating game.

That's one of the criticisms, and one of the positives. It stops cheesing and makes fights feel actual fights but yeah. It does limit options.

EDIT: Yep, it's definitely clicked now. Killed the second Snake-Eyes mini-boss first go, did the second ape boss in about 4 goes and made it to the Hidden Forest pretty much unscathed. The one-armed purple strawberry float took about 20 minutes and was the most frustrating encounter of the night due to the shitty camera in that area.

This is rapidly entering Bloodborne levels of enjoyment for me. It's frustrating yes, but the combat is extraordinary when it clicks.

I’m taking an absolute doing off Lady Butterfly. Getting to the second stage consistently now, but not getting much beyond that. What a nightmare. Any tips?

Parry and keep on her. When she jumps either shuriken or dodge. Second stage use a green thing to dispel her visions. She has low posture compared to some so just tire her out.

If you strawberry floated up a lot and want to save your rez charge for a better run. I mean, there's not many reasons you wouldn't, tbh.

Things have kicked up a notch... now every strawberry floater is a version of a mini-boss and I'm dying all over the place. To be fair, I had gotten a handle on the combat and it changed things up almost exactly when I thought I was on top of it all.

strawberry float those purple guys though. Urgh.

He's deffo an endgame challenge. You need Divine Confetti and the stuff that prevents terror to even get close to him.

I've killed two of the strawberry floaters at this point.

Managed to get the general down to third form. But keep dying. Having a break and dipping into DMC 5. Seems to help and keep the anger levels down.

Let’s put you in a tiny corridor with a guy who can kick through your blocks every 3 seconds and when he’s not doing that he’s just endlessly attacking and nothing you do touches his posture meter.

This game is so strawberry floating dumb

Come to think of it I can hardly think of a non grunt enemy whose posture meter I’ve been able to wear down at all. The game tells you it’s important then in every single encounter of any note it’s just, lol no can’t touch this.

Third stage is surprisingly similar to the first two. Just dodge his lightning.
