Started this tonight and I'm only a couple of hours in but I'm already impressed and can't wait to play more. It's definitely got the FromSoftware style and I'm keen to fight a proper boss.

Reached Lady Butterfly in the dream/past world today but felt like I needed more vitality before attempting to fight her so I've gone back to the main area to continue exploring. Just found a giant snake so looking forward to continuing with that later.

I'm absolutely loving the game. It's hard as hell but slicing up the basic enemies is so satisfying and the look and sound of the game is breath taking.

Being forced to wait for Demon's Souls has sent me back to this and I'm loving it all over again.

Reading back through this thread I'm not experiencing any of the frustration I did first time round :dread:

Got to Genichiro and I beat him first time :datass: Nice to still have the skills. Even the spear guys bend the knee now. Combat is so satisfying and the world and story telling are superb. I really hope they're working on s sequel or Elden Ring takes some cues from this.

This is 60fps locked on Series X so i got in sale. I absolutely love it but I'm stuck on first 'boss' kinda already. Big ogre dude on stairway, is there a technique I'm missing or do I just need to git gud?

What a f**king game tho.

Can't, he's tied up at start.

I'm thinking of a different boss.

Rush him at the start, get a few hits in, throw oil and use the flame attachment. Dodge his 2 unlockable attacks and keep chipping away. You can also go to the ledge at the back and hit him from there til he walks away, go down, lure him back and repeat. I hated that boss.

Wish my image sig would work

You can get a stealth hit on him to take away one health bar if you get him to follow you all the way down the hill through the gate and then hide up behind a building on the far left. Wait until he starts walking away and the red stealth hit icon will appear on him when you're close enough.

There's also a handy fire prosthetic tool in the area you get to by ringing the little bell you get in the first level from an NPC. He's weak to that after throwing oil on him.

I'm jealous of you playing it for a first time. You're in for a treat.

I also picked this up in the sale for PS5.

Already owned it on PC but I rarely get the chance to play on PC these days so it had been sitting there since launch barely touched.

I keep checking the sales prices for this on PC but it never quite goes low enough for me to jump and I can't justify buying it at £30+ right now.

I miss the days of incredible Steam sales. I picked up Dark Souls 3 in the Steam Christmas sale the same year it came out and it was something ridiculous like £12!

Oh yeah I think it's worth it, it's just that I'm conditioned to paying like £30 max for a game now and also that a game which is nearly 2 years old should basically be peanuts!

Published by Activision though so it'll never be even close to peanuts.
