In that case, I refer you to this post.

First off, I'd like to take the scientific high road and point out that land-based vertebrae are descended from the class Actinopterygii, whose evolved forms encompass all tetrapods, whereas sharks are Selachimorpha from the Elasmobranchi class. Which encompasses none.

Actinopterygii = lobe-finned, ("traditional") fish.
Sarcoptyrigii (Elasmobranchs) = ray-finned (Sharks, rays etc)

Two completely different evolutionary chains. They share many characteristics, but that's the same as us being like dogs.

Skarjo wrote:You're suggesting that this shark coming up onto land is evidence of evolutionary spirit and 'against instinct' thinking that could, over time, build up into evolutionary biological change. However, that's not how our or any other previously sea-dwelling organisms transition to land proceeded, is also not how evolution works at a base level and that this is nothing more than evidence of a really ******* stupid shark who was undoubtedly ridiculed by all his shark friends in the shark pub drinking shark beer that night.

Why? He's now an internet celebrity. All his shark friends will be in awe of appearance on the bbc website and would have been flocking (if sharks do indeed flock, maybe swarming) to buy him shark beer. Bet he's got a hell of a hangover this morning.

I know that bumping old threads is frowned on but I was thinking of this thread earlier, searched it out and thought I would share the genius of it with anybody that missed it the first time. One of my favourite threads ever. :lol:

Good to see so many of the old faces from 2010 are actually still around in some respect. Less active, maybe, but very few have totally disappeared.

I miss JK. He logs in every day, even after not posting in 4 years. :(

It's because he is following his instincts and is evolving in order to be able to post only with his mind.

Having not been here the first time around, I thoroughly enjoyed this bump. A++ would read again.

Somebody said something retarded on GRcade, and it wasn't me?

That's novel.

It seems I bump this thread every 5 years. Genuinely makes me laugh every time.

But now it's bittersweet because Scotty's no longer with us. :cry:

But we all owe him an apology.

I do miss Starbreaker and JK, and to some extent Elbo as well. I have absolutely no doubt that he’s probably posting under an alt on here somewhere though.

Is JK the one that posted about how his girlfriend was getting fat then she saw his post and he never posted again? Or was that someone else?

That’s the fella. Genuinely think he either a) got murdered by her, or b) couldn’t post ever again due to the pure shame.
