I think it looks fine and they’ve got six months to polish it up. Personally, it’ll be nice to keep the “Shenmue” feeling in the game rather than everything is brand new. Keep a few of things that we used to know or see from the previous two.

Agreed. I'm not entirely sure what people are expecting. Something in line with Horizon Zero Dawn or the forthcoming Cyberpunk? That was never going to happen. Shenmue 3 exists for the fans, not an entirely new audience. It had to retain that Shenmue look and feel, which it has.

Looks like Shenmue, which is exactly what I'd want.

I have mixed feelings about it and, if I'm being honest it's because I had such high expectations for it. Ridiculously high. So any negative feelings I have are on me. Upon reflection I think it looks fine, it's largely a crowd funded game without the huge budget and backing the first two games had when they were created and for me to expect visuals on par with the best that is being produced right ow is unrealistic. I still can't wait for it to come out!

Dead eyed as strawberry float but the action looks good. It's hard to say from these carefully curated trailers for a janky game trying to emulate an already janky game from 15+ years ago.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

I think all fans really care about is finishing the story, and that's why it exists.

(I bet it won't finish the story.)

I love the series but I do wish he'd wrap it up with 3 simply because I'm not confident 4 would get made.

Looks much better than previous previews of it.

3 will end on a cliffhanger, 4 won't get the funding and we'll be left waiting another 15 years for Shenmue 4. History repeats.

Totally agree. Does it look technically impressive in this day and age? Not at all. Does it look like Shenmue? Yes. And that makes me happy.

I can see 3 ending the Lan Di story, and then it starting another (which will never be finished).

No idea what they were thinking of saying that they wanted to continue the story. They caught lightning in a bottle when this was crowdfunded.

Now... the hardcore fans will lap this up but for casuals like me who have a passing interest in the franchise, the sheer scope and visuals have gone. What is there that will appeal to the masses?

Seems to have some serious frame pacing issues from the first trailer...

Nothing.

Oh, that was rhetorical right?

It was always going to have forklifts to be fair.

Series staple...
