I really like the art style, the design, rendering and lighting matches the CGI used on the box and promotional art of the original games.

Looking much better than the early screens.

Surprised no mention of this yet but Shenmue III is on the cover of the latest issue of Edge.

I mean... it still looks awful but the combat was straight out of VF.

The art style is all over the place, it looks really really amateurish. Quite shocking to see it in such a bad state after 4 years.

It clearly looks dated comparatively speaking but I'm okay with that as it keeps it more in line with the originals. Sometimes old school is cool.

Jesus, this looks abysmal, where has the kick starter money gone? If you want something a bit like Shenmue, just play the Yakuza series.

I'm not sure Sony can be blamed here, I'm sure they're just as disappointed as we are...

Bit of an overreaction going on here methinks, folks. It's not THAT bad.

All things considered I'm fine with how the game looks. It's not a triple A project and they've clearly used exaggeration of features for things like facial expressions which is good enough of a compromise if not a bit old fashioned.
The environments look fantastic however, they clearly wanted to prioritise the setting over anything else.

Some on Restera said the same thing, what is it about the environments that look fantastic? It all looks so bland
