I don't know which faith has it right, but if his opinions posted on this forum are anything to go by, whatever one Jenuall subscribes to definitely isn't it ;)

Maybe God's test is to send Jenuall to us to spread falsehoods in everything except religion. Is going to hell worth it, just for the sake of disagreeing with Jenuall?*

*Yes, yes it bloody is worth it.

One day the wayward shall find enlightenment and join me on the path to truth.

Eventually we will reach the promised land, a place overflowing with milk, honey and larger (as in the drink larger) and we will enjoy a never-ending cavalcade of entertainment: the chance to watch White Chicks for all eternity.

Potentially exploitative situation + 'out there' religion with strange rules = Get the hell outta there.

Quick update as I'm so tired I'm about to fall asleep but it's the only chance I got today to write a reply to this thread.
(1) In my new place now. The guy seems really friendly, really down-to-Earth. Not "out there". It's a surprisingly elegant place (will take photos tomorrow at some stage) which yes material stuff isn't what's important here but you know it's nice to have some comfort after the farm stuff. There's another guy, around my age, arriving tomorrow. Quick description of the guy who owns the place. Not as old as I thought - he was born in '69 so he's either 49/50. He's a candle maker, and is backlogged with a lot of candle orders (Christmas time) so that's a large reason why he's looking for volunteers, as well as the fact he can't do much heavy lifting due to health stuff. He's Buddhist (yes, I know..) but he says he's more not religion but if there was a religion Buddhism is the one he'd go for. You'll probably see some pictures of Indian art in the photos of the place. He has monthly parties where people in the local area come, pay a yearly membership fee of 10 euro and then can enjoy the music the musicians do and can enjoy the beer he makes himself. (Someone with legal knowledge can correlate this but he says that it's legal because the alcohol isn't what people are buying, that's free, it's the yearly membership fee that is the exchange of money and for 10 euro a year there's no way anyone would find that bad) He's an interesting looking character, long pointed beard and a flat cap. He doesn't know much about technology (though he has good TVs, WiFi and a laptop he doesn't have a mobile phone). Pretty chillaxed guy.

(2) Will reply properly to you guys' comments tomorrow. I have read them.
(2) One comment I'll reply some of to now is Rakoon's comment about "make sure you have a plan if things go bad in this new place." I decided to tell the farm lady that I was leaving for only two weeks as a sort of compromise, making it sound more like a holiday than moving away (though she still advised against it) but that means if things go belly-up I can always go home early. I left some of my stuff in the farm because couldn't carry it all. I know the farm lady is in the capital on Fridays delivering goat meat, so if things go well here I'll go back to the farm while she's away (the Brazilian girl and the volunteers will still be there), say a quick hello to them (they won't stop me), grab the rest of my stuff and never look back. Maybe grab one of the goats too and name him Skarjo ;)

So you've escaped the goat farming cult and moved in with a candle-making buddhist hippie?

Is this a Wes Anderson film?

Can't say it hasn't been an interesting life cause it most certainly creates memories

I think we may be talking about two different kinds of milk.

I'm worried that if he ever takes a train that he'll bump into a Belgian detective and be caught up in some kind of Murder Mystery.

Great to see that you're trying something new, LW. Sounds like the new place might be better for you, especially if it's in a less isolated place than the farm.
