There's every chance it could come to Wii U. I was expecting Spectre of Torment to not do that, they did it anyway.

It’s out today.

And it is coming to the Wii U :toot: (although not yet)

Technically true. It is out today, but it was also out yesterday and the day before that. It will also be out tomorrow (barring any disastrous, unforseen circumstances that would cause it not to be).

Anyway.
It's fun, which is no surprise.
King Knight is taking some time to get used to. I feel like there should be a difference to his animation or something after bouncing off an enemy to indicate that you can shoulder-bash again. It's tricky to keep track of whether you can or can not shoulder bash in the heat of the action (though it could just be that I need more time with the game).
A bit tricky, but it's nothing compared to the learning curve wall of Plague Knight!

Just started King of Cards. It's pretty fun, I like his moveset. I don't really like the card game so far, but it seems entirely optional.

I found the Plague Knight moveset really fun when you put the float down ability on him. I actually played through the game recently without using that, and it was still bloody fun. Kinda feel like that campaign is underrated as hell.

Edit - Oh yeah, video capture has been added to the Switch version as well.

Downloaded the King of Cards DLC, not started it yet though. Might give Plague Knights campaign another go before starting it.

I own Treasure Trove but not played any of Shovel Knight at all yet.....need to rectify that soon as it seems this has a ton of content in it.

Shovel Knight Treasure Trove

3ds- £6.74
Wii U - £8.99

Great price on this, apparently the last time they will be this cheap, albeit on old platforms.

I've never played it, but it was so highly rated when it came out, and then all the DLC was added.

Is it still worth a punt? Is it incredibly difficult?

Thanks for this, I've gone for it - on Wii U.

I played and beat Horace on Switch, which a lot of people thought was quite tricky, so I'm hoping my ageing skills are up to this!

Really enjoying this - and I've just found out that you can use the controller from the SNES classic with the Wii U version, by connecting it to a Wii remote. Perfect!

It's definitely easier than Horace. I really liked Horace, but it had a lot of instant fail, fairly intense platforming sections where you had to move at pace.

Shovel Knight is difficult in places, but I never had the same amount of retries that I did in Horace. Also as levels get remixed, you do tend to find it easier as you try out the different characters.

Which reminds me, that I did Shovel Knight, Plague Knight and Spectre Knight, but never went back to the game when King Knight was released. Should correct that.

King Knight was the worst campaign for me, but it's still fun.

I'm actually enjoying the bosses on this - the ones on Horace could be frustratingly hard. These are well designed, 'improve your skills' types - although I did get lucky on the last one by being temporarily trapped above the boss against the top of the screen, delivering about a dozen downward 'shovels'.

I'm guessing this is a legitimate technique, but it was definitely by accident in my case!
