With the next gen just around the corner what single game would you choose to be the poster child for the PS5 or Xbox Next?

I'm going to go with Ghost Recon: Wildlands 2.

The first game was admittedly a rather marmite kind of game with many, many bugs and some of the worst voice acting I've ever experienced in a game (the special forces guys talking like 5 year old's who know swear words) and the driving mechanic was strawberry floating laughable with the ability to just drive a truck up a mountain and then just drive off again and roll down comically always being fun.
The multiplayer aspect was great while it lasted with plenty of options for strategy with the use of drones and other skills and the shooting being pretty good.

I think a next gen version with the normal generational graphics boost but more importantly better enemy AI, a jump to 60 FPS and maybe zero loading screens could turn this into a really amazing game. I don't think the map size needs to increase as it was already huge and they could go even more in depth with the RPG aspect but it should be a relatively simple task to turn this game into something special on next gen as they don't need to reinvent the wheel here.

The last thing they need to do is keep the ability to just have fun that was maybe not even intentional from the first game so have some skills that are maybe just about strawberry floating with a team member.

So, what game would you have chosen?

Just thinking about all those awesome next gen physics makes me shiver.
It's going to blow people's minds  .

Almost as good as a new Super Rub a Dub.

To answer your question seriously, I think the PS5 poster-game will probably be that Ghost of Tsushima game that we saw at the last E3.

I'd personally buy Wildlands 2 in a heartbeat, I love the current game and still dip into it whenever I've got a militaristic sneaky-shooty itch that needs scratching. Wildlands

I expect Horizon Zero Dawn 2 to be shown at the PS5 unveil and, considering what they achieved with PS4, I think they'll blow us away again.

I expect God of War "2" and Spider-man 2 to be close to photo realistic.

Halo Infinite for XboxNext. Open World, non-linear Halo with a huge world and full scale combat? I mean, even I'd be interested.

Cyberpunk for both too I think. If the demo is anything close to the reality is going to be a revelation, at least in terms of world building and technological progress.

A lot of cross-gen games with designs that will inevitably be held back by weak PS4/XBO hardware.

Look back at the cross-gen games from this gen (also available on PS3/360), do any of them actually look good now?

Cross gen is the perfect encapsulation of the two competing sides of the games industry, namely the games... and the industry. Either you make a product based on the current hardware, or you compromise the vision to sell more games.

Obviously the latter wins out every time.

Watch Dogs 3 immediately springs to mind. I can picture a rogue-ish protagonist stalking the bustling streets of New York, not unlike the infamous reveal of the first game - only this time it will be up to par with that original demo, with major AI advancements that become more and more apparent as time goes.

Although, I'd much rather it were set somewhere other than the U.S. London, Sydney and Tokyo are but a few potential locals I think would be a great fit.

Ridge Racer, just for the tradition. I always think of racing games as the graphical showcases for new consoles, and that's probably in no small part due to the number of Ridge Racer launch titles.

What I would like to see, but I doubt will be the focus, is better AI and more numerous on screen characters/enemies. Like how the original Assassin's Creed was marketed.

Sony's big exclusives would no doubt be the standouts.
But I think Watch Dogs 3 may finally be the Next Gen it was intended to be all those years ago.

I think the 360 and One versions were completely different games? Also the One version looks and plays like arse.
