That other Pirate game has somewhat of an unassailable lead, pun intended. I’d wager if people think of a Pirate game it’s probably SoT’s.

The only pirate games I can name are Assassin's Creed 4, Monkey Island and Sid Meier's Pirates.

Yep me too, tbh, they waited FAR too long after AC4 to release this, AC4 was great!

Looks like an upscaled PS3 game. Very boring and all about the upgrades and multi player.

Won't get more than 6/10 and will be forgotten within weeks.

Wish my image sig would work

How have they spent 7 years making an offshoot of Black Flag...that looks worse than Black Flag

Mindblowing

Premium Edition is £94.99 digitally on PlayStation Store ....

Only need to sell 4 copies to earn back the development costs.

It looks like dodgly AC4 DLC. You can't even play with other players on your own ship, each player has their own! :fp:

Graphically I can't see why its this gen only as well....

I just watched that trailer and I really like the look of this game :shifty: .

I hope that the exploration aspect can be done without having battles with other players every two minutes, though.

I'd like to get this but £70 games - for the basic version - are a no-go for me. Will await a sail.

It actually has player v enemy servers so you can play the whole thing without encountering other people, so that's one massive way it's better than Sea of Thieves. But then they bugger it up by only allowing three player co-op on the PvE servers

Never mind. One day we might get a decent pirate game...

If you play A Pirates Life in Sea of Thieves you don't encounter other people...

Only when you're actually in the levels themselves, though. When you're travelling the overworld from the settlement you picked the quest up to the glowing "the level starts here" waypoint you're in a public server with other people. Or you were the last time I gave it a go. And the only truly "private" way of playing Sea of Thieves is in a streaming server which doesn't save any progression.

I found what we played of A Pirate's Life so boring, too  Think we only did the first episode or two.

Apart from the fact they you pick A Pirate's Life from the main menu which then puts you in A) a low population server and B) a server where no one is close to you (this is true of the main game btw) ever wonder why you don't spawn on an island with no one on it, or near?

You spend maybe 10mins maximum before sailing into the gate, no chance of being attacked in that time...If you didn't enjoy a Pirates Life, fair enough, personally, I'd have it as one of my Games of last year but DLC's don't really count, full of piratey nonsense with and a graphical showcase.

By the look of it and it wasn't ready.
