I wonder what's innovative about the wind system.

It will be a you vs bots campaign that lasts for about 20 minutes, guaranteed.
I loved AC4 ship combat but strawberry float playing an entire game of nothing but that. Ubi need to make an actual proper Pirate game, no Assasins shenanigans, just take the foundation of AC4, and build on that. This being billed as an online game first and foremost really puts me off it. The same went for For Honor, would have loved a cool stupid, Knights v Samurai v Vikings time travelling brawler, but its MP only, so strawberry float that.
While it was introduced very much as a competitive multiplayer game, Ubisoft has confirmed that its pirate ship battler, Skull & Bones will come with a story component - but it's a little unclear what form that will take.
Speaking to PC Gamer, an Ubisoft representative said the game "will offer a narrative campaign which will be integrated into the game and will not be something aside of the multiplayer experience. In this campaign, players will encounter iconic characters and memorable rival pirates. More details will be shared at a later date."
It's a fairly vague description, but appears to be suggesting that the game will build its story mode and multiplayer into a single experience.
The game will be set in a "shared, systemic world," and, as pointed out in our E3 hands-on, will feature as-yet unseen PvE elements. With that in mind, it seems fairly possible that we'll see something akin to Destiny, with story told through a series of individual missions that can be played alone or with your pirate gang.
We contacted Ubisoft for clarification of what form the mode will take, but the developer will currently offer no further explanation.

That's not innovative though, we played as the wind in Flower.
My guess is that the game will ship with some kind of 'Virtual Wind' device- a wide brimmed hat of some sort with fans attached to it.

Boy, they picked a bad time to announce that.
Venom wrote:I love the pirate theme and the game does look gorgeous with in the 4K (PC or XBO X?) trailers for me the concern is whether there will be a single player game. In the predictions thread I said that Ubisoft would show the game without learning lessons from Sea of Thieves, about a couple of weeks later they delayed the game until 2019-2020.Ubisoft press release 17/05/2018 wrote:Ubisoft has decided to give itself more time to develop Skull and Bones to offer players an even more engaging experience. The E3 trailers look so rich with detail that a major publisher will want that expense to be the most profitable it can be by making multiplayer games. I think they will be adding more variety and progression but I didn't see anything that referenced a single player.

The main thing you’ll be doing in this game is firing cannons at ships, boarding them, then stealing their loot to buy shiny new things for your own vessel. The problem? I’m not quite sure there’s much else to look forward to.
