John Lewis which is plusnet which is part of BT ( ) hiked my monthly amount by £10 via direct debit with no warning whatsoever.

We were just 6 months into an 18 month contract with a price of £29 per month... Definitely breach of contract there. I sorted it out but they also removed any and all ability to contact them online or via email despite literally using an online ticketing/e-mail system. Which is strawberry floating absurd and I'm pretty sure against the equality act.

What's new about the major ISPs.

Gonna drop Sky as only have it as legacy from GoT, and for recording TV.

Can anyone recommend a good TV recording box that will sub out the SkyQ/Sky+?

Do all the big brands increase their Prices from April 1st?

Therefore is it actually best waiting till after April first to lock into a new contract? Then at least going forward for ever I am aways renewing just after a price hike meaning i always get the best prices for year 1?

I'm considering using this price hike to ditch my virgin contract early, because their prices are ridiculous. However, they're the only fibre provider in my area, so the alternative is *shudder* ADSL broadband.

Has anyone got any experience of mobile home broadband? 3 seem to do a decent monthly deal on a 5G hub, but while the speeds look high, I've no idea how reliable a connection a home 5G hub might give me.

NOW, Sky’s streaming arm, has announced price rises on Sky Sports and Boost:

At NOW, we're proud to bring you world-class sports, from unmissable Premier League and WSL clashes to thrilling Formula 1 and England International Cricket. And don't forget with Boost, you can stream ad-free in 1080p Full HD with 5.1 Surround Sound – all on 3 devices at once.

We understand that things are tough right now. However, we're committed to providing quality streaming, flexibility and great value - so to continue bringing you the sports and experience you love, we need to adjust our pricing. For sports, this is the first time in six years.

- Our Sports Month Membership price will be going up by £1, to £34.99 a month.

- Our Boost price will be going up by £1, to £6 a month.

You'll see the price changes reflected in your bills from‌ 28‌ February onwards.

£41 for Sky Sports in 1080p is awfully expensive. NOW do regularly run promotions so you should still be able to get it for around £30.

The BT Sport monthly pass recently announced an increase too, to £29.99 a month (with Discovery+ now included).

Millions of Sky broadband and TV customers will see their bills increase from 1st April 2023 by an average of £[b]67.20 a year (8.1% or £5.60 a month)

The price increase will affect most Sky broadband and television customers in the UK. This includes those with bundled packages of more than one product as well as those with just the one product, such as broadband.

Sky says its home phone prices will also be changing, but it hasn't yet shared the details.

Sky wouldn't confirm the individual price increases customers face, but said the average rise will be £5.60 a month or 8.1%. It will be writing to affected customers from Thursday 16th February 2023 to confirm their new prices.

Their website tells me their base Q package is already £26 a month (HD Netflix included), though looking back this does appear to be cheaper that their old Variety/Family packages used to be. Though back then there were a load more channels.

Sky Stream is free for 1 month though for new customers.

Anyone here know anything about Octaplus broadband? They seem like a pretty new provider. They're offering a 900Mbps package for £27/month, which the other providers round here are charging about £40/month for equivalent advertised speeds. My current Virgin deal is about to expire, and they're currently offering to renew my £25/m 100mbps internet at £28/month, so fancy a change to something faster, especially now there's new connections round here so I'm not just limited to Virgin for high speed connections anymore.
