Started my Anniversary Edition run of Skyrim on the Switch yesterday afternoon, thought I’d leave it on Legendary difficulty and got absolutely battered so turned it down a couple of notches while I get my character a little more sorted
think this will tide my Switch over nicely till Pokémon comes out, it was either this or do another run of Sword and I really didn’t want to even start to burn myself out on Pokémon so close to the release of the new ones.
Performance wise it’s solid, had one crash to do with one of the new content quests and it does run poorly in the hold’s of Falkreath and Riften. Hopefully it can get these performance issues patched out, they’re obviously never going to sort the almost inherent performance problems that nearly always seem to crop up when your houses are full of random stuff you’ve acquired over Skyrim.
I really don’t know what makes Skyrim so compelling to me though, when it doesn’t excel in that many areas really. The various quest lines are solid, the combat is solid, the graphics are good but nothing amazing , the music is solid outside of a few great pieces, the perk system is solid but at least very open to the point where you can almost completely change play style if you want.
Edit, seems like they’ve sorted the bulk of the performance issues out at least, survival mode also seems fixed. Huh, Bethesda actually sorting problems!
