I don't know how true this is, but someone once told me Lucky Strike cigarette's were originally called so because in the immediate period after their conception there was always one cigarette per pack which would actually be a joint, hence that one being 'the' lucky strike. Or something like that. Bullshit?

Instead of the smoking ban stopping smoking its just created a breed of hard core smokers that would rather drink a can of smoke than go outside for a fag.
