This is great

The chord length though :dread: Sitting about 4 feet from a 65" screen is pretty heavy on the eyes.

Just finished starfox for the first time ever :toot:

Solves that problem completely.

I still have it in a cupboard upstairs, weighing up whether to give my son it or let him just use the raspberry pie my brother in law built him. There’s something about the SNES mini that makes me want to use it even though I’m convinced it can’t be any different from the pie. I am however missing a few of the SNES mini games on the pie so need to look for some more rooms. A lot of them don’t appear to be on Emu paradise.

You've got the snes mini so why not just play it? I can't put my finger on it, but they feel like the real games rather than playing a Rom, even though they're the same thing. Must be the pads and the console look itself.

Been playing loads of Mario kart

Mainly because I’m contemplating selling it as I’m not sure if it’s worth it if I can get all the games on the pie.

Has anyone actually looked into whether Nintendo NERD's emulation is more authentic yet? Because if it is, it's hard to argue with the above.

I bought a pi 3 as a gift and it runs megadrive and SNES games like butter, even f Xero X on n64 runs at 60fps. Quad core is of course pretty helpful. £33 with wifi and Bluetooth.

I think the important thing is to be selective about which games you are actually likely to okay, and in this case, Nintendo does it for you. I'm also working on a project to use original controllers, currently a Sega megafire.

No problem. I'd be sat on my living room floor to play my mini without them.

Shame there's no hard reset without hacking it though :(

Sometimes I can't be bothered playing it because I'd have to get off my arse to reset it.

Oh the burden of having to stop slouching on the sofa

Lewis :fp:

The lack of controller resetting is a bit annoying though. A simple L+R+start+select would do it.

Get a smart plug and turn it off and on by remote on your phone.

I just stretch and reset it with my foot.

The hack is well worth it just for the soft-reset option for me.

Of all the consoles hooked up, this has had by far the most playtime this Christmas

It's funny, I never had a snes but I played so many of these over at my friend's house and I lusted after them, and now I have them and I can play all I want. Also funny as I used to get to maybe play a few levels of something and then we'd just play multiplayer, so games like dkc I know like the back of my hand....for the first 5 or so levels and then it's totally new to me... And a bit gooseberry fool :shifty:

So far I've 'finished' starfox and Mario kart (which I love.for it's focus on actual racing and not crazy item spamming).

Been.playing a lot.of kirbys dream course in two player.

Not had as much chance to give this playtime as I would have liked after grabbing it for Christmas, but I've enjoyed what I have played. Those controller cords! :fp:

I've put the hack on and added a bunch of extra games as a starter though, nothing too crazy at this point - basically added most of the NES Mini games as I never managed to grab one and added some of the higher profile SNES games missing from the base system.

Can't wait to give it a real play when I get a chance - N64 was my first home Nintendo console so much of this is new to me!

I actually really enjoy Dream course.
Once you've got the hang of it, it's really addictive and fun :)

Started having a proper go on some of these games now, from a quick 10-15 minute bash on each offering their seems to be a real mixed bag of gold and trash!

Obviously your Zelda's and Mario's are classics, but some stuff like Mega Man X and Donkey Kong Country seem really poor by comparison. Perhaps I just need to give them a bit more time...

 :fp:

Yes...you need to give them more time than a 10 to 15 minute bash on each...This is the problem with getting 21 games at once.

Focus on one or two games, complete them, then move onto the next. You won't get anything out of the games by playing all of them for a few minutes...
