I actually did this last night  I had a huge dump of Neo Geo and PC Engine stuff - not even sure why as I never played them as a kid, so they carry no nostalgia value. Anyway, went through some 'top 10' lists and just ended up with about 15 appealing titles in each, instead of the 400 or so I did have.

Unfortunately, I did my ROM deleting before I read this...

Green Gecko wrote:Little tip - when ROM dumpers test a ROM or the community plays it and knows it works, they put a [!] in the file name. That's not a warning, it means "tested and working". So if you have multiple copies of ROMs with slightly different filenames, I choose to keep the PAL and US versions only and if there is a [!] I keep that and delete the others.

That is an amazing tip, thank you. Plus, you read my mind. I think I was assuming that an exclamation mark meant there was something dodgy going on :fp:

Think there are a couple of games on the mini SNES that I don't have, so I'll probably find those, too.

Anyway... sorry... that Mini SNES, eh?

Utter banana splits, I'm guessing the same will happen with the SNES mini.

Just because it's listed for that, doesn't mean it will sell. You can probably get a NES mini for about £80 now if you hit the right auction and ignore all the silly buy-it-nows in eBay...

I've always made sure I play ROMs that tend to have the ! And be US, I tend to avoid the ones the say beta and other stuff. I had no idea that the ! Was for saying it was play tested, but I assumed it was a good thing.

Yeah... this isn't a thing.

They've been going close to £200.

Nice, I'll Cancel my shopto preorder as it's cheaper on Argos.

Managed to get one on Amazon when they first went up, keeping up with buying Nintendo stuff as it comes out is exhausting!

OK, I have two £70 pre-orders now. Weirdly, I bought the first one to skelp, but then became excited about the prospect of having one so have decided to keep it, despite having it all on a Pi. My cousin was gutted he missed out the first batch of stock, so I got one from Argos in case he can't get it.

Nintendo are either idiots or geniuses... I'm genuinely not sure which. They have got people whipped up into a froth of desperation and determination, eager to secure as many pre-orders as they can  .

I've got a pre-order in even though, in my head, I know that I can't afford it at the moment and I probably won't play it :fp: . [Confirmed: Part of the problem].

Just tried it and yup, I got the spinning wheel icon when I attempted to add SNES Mini to basket.

Try the Argos iOS app and use the product code (715/6627).

Ordered mine from Argos a couple of hours ago. :toot: The wheel kept spinning round for me too. I accidentally went into landscape mode (on my phone) and it showed some more of the page behind it with 1 item in my trolley. Might be worth giving that a go?

Anyone into emulating should look up Goodset ROM codes. There's tonnes of them and they let you know various things about a ROM like if it's patched for a certain language etc.
