It's definitely not an intuitive wall jump. I beat it on retropie last summer so I don't fancy trying it again but it feels like gooseberry fool until you unlock the screw attack

I've done it before playing on an emulator too but this time I could only get half way up this time.

It also floats me off how you can't check all of your maps so far, only the one you're in. So I've been trying to find the grapple beam thing because I know I need that as well as the gravity suit next, but i can't call all my maps up to look for the gaps, so I've got to aimlessly move between them to spot bits. Only now do I realise I should be in nofair (I think) and I've been missing the entrance all evening because of the broken water tube.

And cheeky devlin just started hyperventilating.

Maybe try it on one of your other SNES Minis? Might be easier.

Seriously though the Wall Jump in Super Metroid isn't the easiest. They definitely improved it for Fusion. Honestly I'm not a big fan of the SNES Mini version of SM. Far too much slowdown for my liking, so I wouldn't be surprised if the timings are different from version to version.

Later games definitely have some QOL improvements that would be nice in Super, such as the map being a bit better, but I'm familiar enough with the game now that I don't even notice them.

Yeah, it's hardly controversial to suggest that it's missing out on improvements made in later games. The one that annoys me the most is pushing Select to change your missiles/bombs/grapple.
Wall jumping's easy though

I actually just got a second one... I had hacked the first but kept the files so I could return it to its original state, then my hard drive died and this data with it, so I got a second one to make a fresh copy.. just putting this out there in case it helps anyone, I'm keeping the second not hacked so if anyone needs a fresh copy of it's default like I did feel free to message me and I'll sort out sending you the files,. Yep I'm a muppet

First time I've actually finished supe metriod. Clear time was 6.35, it felt like a lot longer than that though.

Dat Nintendo reference item percentage.

In all seriousness, probably have it up for sale for £55 later.
It has two of those controller extension cables included too.

Anyone on the fence, buy lewis' at that price. I've played mine far more than I expected and it feels like playing a real console rather than an emulator.

I just 'hacked' mine to add some more games for christmas. Had a scary moment at the start where an error came up, but otherwise the process of installing was relatively painless.

The two games I wanted to play the most don't work though (rock n roll racing and secret of everymore) :fp:

I've been playing more and more of my snes mini I recently, treating it like a proper console and giving the games time rather than a cursory 10 min nostalgia hit. Currently about 3/4 of the way through yoshis island, it's so good. Looks beautiful, plays like a dream and it's really creative.

With all of the snes switch talk, ive decided I'm going to play more of my snes mini for my next gaming fix.

This time it's Pedz' favourite, A link to the past. I've got many fond memories of this game, waaaaay back when it first came out swapping my megadrive for a friend's snes and playing ALTTP all summer long  I think I finished it twice in that time, but despite starting it again countless times since on emulators, I've never got that far in it really.

Now I will play it properly and finish it once more

These are a bit hard to find now, what with Nintendo concentrating on propping up their not very good online service with SNES games, instead of fixing their online service.

Absolutely love mine; haven't hacked it or anything - each of the original games stands up so well. Well, most of them do. I can take or leave Megaman X.

Hopefully the MD classic is a similar story, although I fear placing the two next to each other in case they fight.

I really like Mega Man X, but I much prefer the original Mega Man games.

Mine has been revived slightly since I brought it into work. I arrive about an hour before everyone else so sometimes squeeze in a little session before the fun officially stops.

The 'quick blast' games have been the most fun so far. F-Zero is lush and I still enjoy it. I have also been loving Super Punchout. I'm as gooseberry fool at SFII as I ever was.
