Looks like this has a fair bit of co-op content, should be excellent. Looking forward to seeing how the competitive MP plays too.

At most I've been able to kill one soldier without alerting the others, but I'd much prefer to take them all out this way, or atleast most of them. Is this possible? Although I'm hidden they all seem to know my position too. Of course, I probably just need more practise  but I'd like to know if the same happens to others in the demo.

From the looks of it there isn't much scope for going through a level silent assassin style. Watched the preview on Gametrailers though and there was clips of him using thunder to mask his shots

With this and Max Payne gun nuts are in for a treat. Although as much as I enjoyed the demo the violence did make me feel a little uneasy at certain points. I must be getting old.

The AI is too perfect.
I loved the first one, but the AI ruins it in this one for me.
It has Farcry 2 syndrome.

I thought I finally got a knob shot when all of a sudden... the guy exploded  Remote Detonation kill.

I want to play on the Marksman setting but I end up being spotted so easily that I'm opting for custom difficulty.
Not 100% sure why some shots are successful while others aren't but it's still a lot of fun anyway.

Played the demo of this and really enjoyed it. I'd have really liked a shooting range in the demo to get the hang of the wind and dip, because it's so different to most other games. I think I saw that there are 11 levels in the full game. I'm not sure whether that's enough to justify a £30 purchase, as I'm not sure whether there's enough scope (see what I did there?!) for variety or longevity of levels. I suppose most games are only 10-15 levels long, but the levels seem to be more like scenarios than chapters.

The original Sniper Elite is only £2.25 on Steam for the next 12 hours, so I've picked that up to get a feel for the series.

11 levels only

With no multiplayer and i presume the co-op is using the same levels from the main campaign?

I have ordered but i may cancel and wait.

Holy crap! Decided to mess with that first soldier who is just stood about doing nothing. I shoot the ground around him to make him run in various directions. Eventually he ended up running in the direction of where all those other soldiers are, but instead of alerting them he just crouched behind some wooden furniture. He was behind it but not taking cover against it.
I took my shot and... bloody hell! The bullet goes through the furniture but as it exits its tumbling through the air. It enters the soldier's upper thigh in this manner and ends up shattering the femur and pelvis into a million pieces  And as if that wasn't bad enough he too exploded ... :(

That or a more detailed explanation of how they work would have been very welcome.

 I got bollocks shot!

Is it possible to make their eyes burst? I can do a headshot which has one eye bulging but it never pops.

I completed the demo last night and although it was a great experience you can tell it feels very unfinished.

The footsteps are too loud when not crouching. Also the sound of my first shot should alert all the other soldiers up the road and, probably, other in the same area. Instead they are completely unaware my Springfield has just bulletised a skull in to many pieces.

Visuals are actually hit and miss even though the resolution isn't all that high either.

I'm almost certain that's working as intended.

Don't cancel your order on my word alone, I'm vaguely remembering the splash screen from the end of the demo which I played last night

Those who don't play on the hardest difficulty setting are child plebs.

They've kept the game's points system in the demo and yet they don't rate your performance once the demo is over. Spluh!

Had a good time on it but I doubt I'll be getting it at full price. But it's a definite purchase once it hits the sub £20 mark.

12-player team deathmatch will be PC only:

http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/04/18/sniper-elite-v2-team-deathmatch-coming-to-pc-only/

As reported by MP1st.com, Rebellion have announced in a forum post that Sniper Elite V2′s 12-player team deathmatch mode will be PC exclusive. Responding to queries on Twitter, developers Rebellion explained that they were able to include the mode for PC players because they’re self-publishing that version of the game, whereas the console versions are being co-published with 505 Games.

“We only had the power to make that decision on the PC version,” said the tweet. “We chose to include it.” Rebellion haven’t given much away about the exclusive mode, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say that men will shoot other men, possibly in the testicles, for points. The team with the most testicles wins. Sniper Elite V2′s other multiplayer modes sound interesting: there’ll be a few different ways to play co-op with a friend, including competitive sniping, asymmetrical co-op with one sniper and one operative, and a mode where you have to race to repair a vehicle before an area is bombed to bits. You’ll also be able to work through the whole single-player campaign together.

8-)

Downloading the demo. Looks like it could be pleasurable.

Pleasurable? You sicken me.

EDIT: And I still can't get the Steam demo to download. Are the servers really getting this hammered for a demo like this?

Or anyone, by the sounds of it. Had a look on the Steam forums, and there is definitely some issue at Steam about it. Then there's hoards of people calling it utterly unacceptable, and demanding that the demo be put up on Origin immediately.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't mean to leave your vid post on the last page.
