Work have sent a message round saying essentially:

'Make every effort to come in, but if you can't then you can take it as annual leave which will be paid and in addition to your existing allowance.'

Does anyone want to have a bet with me how many of my team members will show up?

Snowed pretty much all day here. Sledging, snowball fights, the building of dodgy looking snow men - it's all been happening. Lovely stuff. :toot:

Don't expect it to stick around though.

My weirdo neighbour did that yesterday. Shovelled his drive three times throughout the day (lol) and now his drive is just a sheet of ice. Ruddy pleb.

I only have 2 weeks left at my job which makes me so tempted to take advantage of the snow and not go in today. But I really have no excuse, as soon as I get out of my house I'm 2 minutes away from the A roads I use for work that will definitely be clear and safe. Also, I probably can't afford to lose any pay :dread:

If you think it's in any way dangerous, don't do it. Seriously, it's your life on the line in a very real sense, plus it's not just you that's got to be careful - you could be cautiously moving along and some delivery van side swipes you.

Is it worth potentially killing yourself for?

I work hear enough normally, always in early and I've not had a day off sick in 6 months so I'm not losing sleep over it. I'm not going to be the only one, they can discipline me if it comes to it.

You make a good point but I think it'll be safe. I just hope I get to work and everyone else is in. I'll be so annoyed if the office is empty.

strawberry float driving in this. It's all ice where people drove through the snow yesterday. I'm working from home today.

Loads of snow in Birmingham but it was quickest I've ever gotten into work today as the motorways were empty. My street was pretty bad but as soon as I was onto main streets was fine.

Rain just turned to snow, dont think it will settle though as the ground is far far too wet but I can hope. If it comes down hard enough for long enough it may do.

Got just over an inch of snow over the weekend. Very pretty. Wish we'd gotten more.

Long range forecast has us down for snow almost every day in the week before Christmas. I hope it happens. :simper:

Bit of sleet over here in West Sussex, nothing to get excited about though. It's too wet to settle so it's just depressingly grey out there.

South wales, that's the estate I live on. I'm further to the left and higher up that that row of houses. The big old hill behind would be incredible today but it's too steep in these conditions, it'd taker too long to get up there.

So out of my 15 direct line reports, 1 poor bastard showed up. As soon as I walked through the door he told me he was feeling unwell, so I sent him straight home.

It was great catching up without the constant barrage of interruptions. I worked until 2pm and now I've come home for lunch. strawberry float doing anything else today :toot:.
