My plan is not to pick them up at launch, I have so much stuff on PS4 and Switch that I have not played and even more coming over the next year.

I know the hype will get tome nearer the launch but I plan to hold firm this time round :slol:

Also, welcome back Gemini!

I don't really have any plans for it. I will hopefully get the new consoles but I don't think i'll be there at launch this time.

I'm waiting this time to see how the dust settles. I've got a bigger mortgage and a kid this time vs when I bought my launch PS4. I don't expect prices to come down massively, but will wait to see if it's worth the upgrade, and how good back compatibility is. I've pumped a lot of money into games for the PS4 that I've never played, so I'd possibly need my lifestyle to change slightly before it was fully worth it.

Apart from an extra controller and games, an 8tb hdd will need to be installed just to future proof as i assume we will be able to download existing ps4 purchases on to the ps5 day one.

As PS5 will be backwards compatible with the PS4 I’ll get it on release. Ive put money aside (so long as its under £500)

I have enough to play for the next year though

Not in any rush for the next gen - probably need to get a spangly new TV first to get the best of it. And the current one is fine, plus I've got a backlog of games I'll likely never finish.

So, I'll probably wait at least a year and maybe two before jumping in. At the minute, I can only really see the PS5 being an option (alongside any Nintendo hardware, which is guaranteed in any event).

Haven't missed having an Xbox this gen, and being able to use my VR kit on the next playstation is a huge hook.

But, you never know. Might fancy a change by then, and it's not beyond either of MS or Sony to either completely mess everything up or pull a rabbit out of the hat.

If a Switch Pro becomes a thing then that will be a day one purchase for me.

I've just upgraded to an Xbox One X from an og Xbox One. I usually give it a year or so before I buy a next gen console, which means I'll get atleast 2 years out of my X. Works out. Works out well as I bought it from CEX which give me a 2 year guarantee on it.

I feel like every passing generation, I can wait a little longer to jump in than the one before. I didn’t get a PS4 until Christmas 2016 and didn’t feel like I missed out at all.

And that's it.

Nintendo’s new offering will be day one or thereabouts depending on backlog, I’ll decide on one of the Xbox or Sony offerings when The Elder Scrolls 6 releases as that is one game I don’t see coming to the Switch, hard to say for the upgraded Switch ‘pro’ as we have no idea if it exists or what it is if indeed it exits.
