So, what's your plans for the next generation?

Anything to do with games at all.

Assumined PS5 will launch around Christmas, I imagine I'll pick one up around September the following year.

Usually that seems to be when things really pick up with the releases.

Game Pass and chill.

Probably day 1.

One of my favourite things about PC gaming is that it doesn't have generations. So I'll carry on with my computer.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I think I might stick to Nintendo for my console gaming and not bother with either PS of Xbox. There's just something about Nintendo for me. Haven't touched my PS4 since getting a Switch and in all honesty I haven't had any outstanding gaming moments with it, certainly nothing that has come close to my favourite gaming moments. I thought maybe I was just getting older and bored of games but I've loved the switch.

Stick with the same pattern as this generation most likely:

* Solid PC upgrade around the time the new MS+Sony consoles drop giving me something that will most likely outperform both for their lifetime
* Possible mid generation smaller PC upgrade if required (GPU, maybe a RAM increase)
* If the next Nintendo console looks like offering the same genius that is the Switch I'll grab that on or near launch
* Pick up a PS5 and/or XBOX One2 somewhere mid-late generation and hoover up the games I've missed. :toot:

To answer more fully, Gamepass and Halo Infinite with the launch of next box will do me just fine.

My Xbox One X will go to my daughter and her OG Xbox One will go to the attic or ill donate it...

PS5 at launch, then the PS5 Pro and equivalent Xbox mid gen upgrades/price drops to coincide with 8K. Might swap the Xbox for Nintendo. Depends what the games are, really.

Definitely not getting all 3 formats however.

None of the consoles at launch, money permitting a total PC upgrade sometime in the next 2 years. My 1070 setup has only just started to struggle with Ultra settings (Control and Total War Three Kingdoms being the first 2 games I've had to run at 1080p instead of 1440 or at lower settings) but I'd really like to experience Cyberpunk as high as I can.

Games wot I worked on:
Night Call: Out now!
Rip Them Off: Out now!
Chinatown Detective Agency: 2021!
EXOGATE Initiative: Early Access Summer 2021

Probably be an incredible experience if you're tripping at the time. :P

Weirdly enough, I had a super vivid dream of playing Cyberpunk 2077 last night. 10/10 CDPR knocked it out of the park.

PS5 day one, I’ve only just got an Xbox One today so I’ll wait on getting Scarlett.

With all the ROMs on my lap top hard drive, all the PS+ stuff on my PS3 and 4 hard drives and the fact I’ve recently started collecting games for the OG XBOX I could quite comfortably not buy another new system and still be up to my neck in great games for years to come... but let’s face it I’ll probably get a PS5.

My intention this time is to wait for a few years. I've built up a pretty large backlog on current generation systems and I'd quite like to work my way through that before going into the next generation. I still have some games left over from the PS3/360 generation and they just got abandoned when I moved onto this gen and even now I still have some unplayed from that era. I've also upgraded my PC in the last year so it should be able to keep up with the next-gen systems for multi-platform titles. The only thing I'll really be missing out is exclusives and it will probably take a while for either platform to build up a decent range of exclusives.

That said, my willpower is pathetic so expect to see me in the PS5 launch day thread

Probably won’t bother at all this time round to be honest. I don’t have the time. :(

Of course I say that now but when Rock Band 5 is announced I’ll be on it like a car bonnet.
