Terrific stuff, Dragon! Congratulations to you and Mrs Dragon on baby Dragon :toot: .

My youngest nephew is one-and-a-quarter now. I think I mentioned here before that he has Down Syndrome and, because of this, he has had to undergo a lot of tests and check-ups for various stuff. After a few initial scares he has progressed well although we're now at a stage where we're discovering that he is not developing his movement and behaviour quite as fast as a "typical" kid of his age would. This is pretty standard for a child with his challenges, though, and we were kinda prepared that things may well take a little longer. He is healthy and, of course, the most important thing is that we absolutely love him to bits!

My son is going through a phase where I feed him, he chews, then he takes the food out of his mouth and launches it onto the floor all the while making eye contact with me.

I feel it's a power play.

It sounds like he's already won this battle.

He is now the pack leader.

How old is he? Might be worth trying a more kid led thing where you just put an array of stuff infront of him and he can go at it in his own time, we did that with the little'un did like carrot sticks, broccoli etc. cooked until soft and and she would work through it in her own time.

Son had his first birthday party on Saturday for his 6th Birthday, after organising a Bouncy Castle party and theming everything Minecraft for 30 kids safe to say next year we’re doing a package deal at a softplay…. Knackered me out but little man was happy so that was the main thing, the amount of presents he got from other kids was bonkers though he got full army figures and vehicle kits worth £30, way too much for a school friends present.

My son is 15 months and walking now.

They really don't warn you how quickly they change from loveable sweet little babies into pint sized dictators do they :dread:

They do not.

In my current house we have a little hatch in the wall that connects the living room and kitchen, so that anyone in the kitchen isn't completely cut off from those in the living room. This quickly became a point of service whereby requests (demands) for food would be communicated via for anyone that happened to wander in there.

I don't know what's happened, but the last 4 weeks have just been crazy for my son's development. He's gone from sliding himself backwards a bit to fill on unstoppable crawling, pulling himself up to standing against all the furniture, and a whole orchestra of new sounds that he's making. Not sure if it's to do with my wife and I both getting covid and spending 2 weeks solid with him while not working, then taking him down to my parents' to be surrounded by family, but it's like he's a different child than even a month ago.

Just dropped him off at nursery for the first time this morning, and he turns 1 next week. Can't believe how soon that's come around, but at the same time, his birth and those first few weeks feel like a whole lifetime ago.

My son's already been sent home from nursery with a temperature twice in 2 weeks, each time meaning he can't go back for at least 2 days. So we'll have paid for 2 full weeks of nursery for him to have done about 2.5 days each week. Feeling absolutely fleeced, especially as he seems absolutely fine after a bit of calpol.

Did they not give him Calpol first?

Ours call us for consent, give Calpol and if it doesn't come down in the next 4 hours ask us to collect then.

Nope, seems to be a straight call to come and collect. I guess it's to be as covid secure as possible, as both times they've also asked us to get a PCR test done.

We had to do the PCR test for him to return as well, but this was after Calpol hadn't reduced his temperature and he'd been coughing all day so fair enough.

When did he start nursery? The problem is they're picking up bugs all the time especially for the 3 months. I understand the covid concern but to not even try calpol first is abit ridiculous.

Sounds like we may be lucky with ours then.

It is frustrating when you're paying £50+ a day and then they're at home and you're having take time from work to look after them etc.

My wife's family are Hindu and took him to their temple on Sunday to celebrate Pongol, and took one of my favourite photos of him:
