Is it flat against the wall? If so then it's usually easy enough to secure either using a simple right angle bracket fixed at the top of the cabinet (usually with tall furniture you can get away with doing this just on the outside because you won't see it) or if the furniture has a strong enough "back" to it then by screwing directly through that and into the wall

If it's standing away from the wall then you can get specific furniture straps/brackets which are essentially a cord/chain which you fix to both the furniture and the wall. This sort of thing should do the trick:

It's flat against the wall, very tall (nearly at the ceiling) and full of glasses so quite heavy. I looked at those straps but not sure if a metal one would be worth it given how heavy it is?

Yeah you could go for a metal equivalent of those straps, but if it's flat against the wall then you might want to just get a couple of right angle brackets and attach it directly?

Lyra had her 3rd Birthday party today. Why is she growing up so quickly. Why will she be getting ready to go to school this time next year.

My 5 year old is adamant this morning that he doesn't have to wear clothes because he is King Kong the gorilla and gorillas don't wear pants.

So I googled gorillas in underwear.....I managed to find enough clean photos to convince my son to wear pants, but there are some things that cannot be unseen. :dread:

Little man is going to start nursery in November when my wife returns to work.

First of all, nursery prices, facking hell!

Second, can anyone explain to me how the childcare tax benefit works? I'm a bit confused by it-do we pay into an account and the Gov top it up by 20% and the nursery is paid from that account? Thanks

My wife dealt with all the nursery/tax benefit stuff.

So my advice is to get your wife to sort it all out.

Yeah you do it all through your government gateway account.

It's very much been allocated to me on the To Do List.

Could you ask your wife to sort ours too please?

Ok, so say we need to pay £700 a month, would the thing to do be to put in £560 a month so it gets £140 top up (20%)?

Can't wait for September so Lyra gets the free 30 hours. It's so damn expensive just so we can work!

The way we did it was put the whole invoice amount on the account each month and let the top up accumulate. That way we had a nice balance so every so often the nursery fee was 'free'. If that makes sense.

Yep, eye watering. Luckily, my wife's a teacher and we've found a nursery that will offer term time only places, so that helps, but it's still like having a second mortgage.

Thanks for mentioning the childcare tax benefit, wasn't even aware of that, so will be sure to get that sorted when he starts going.
