It's a cliché (and hard to appreciate when you're in the middle of it) but make the most of this time, the baby stage goes surprisingly quickly!

Glad to hear he's doing well :D

I don't know why Oblo didn't post this himself, but here's a picture of his new baby.

strawberry floating Nursery man - She started getting 30 HOURS free starting 1st September. They've just billed me £330 because apparently Monday, Wednesday equal 30 hours.

Then of course I couldn't find my gateway log in gooseberry fool, Absolute fuss this. Now I've got to email them and inevitably get stung on something like paying £50 an hour for some green string beans.

Moggy just went to the top of the list .

Can't believe you posted that on Tuesday and I've only just seen it. This baby is not conducive to my GRcade career!

He's happy enough during the day but he simply won't sleep during the night unless he's being held by one of us. I end up sat downstairs with him between around 11pm-7am, binge watching Red Dwarf and Peep Show.

My wife is recovering from the surgery, so on top of nighttime duties I'm also doing everything around the house throughout the day. Already sick of hanging up to dry the outrageous amount of little clothes he's getting through!

Congratulations, Ob. Got to watch more TV in the first few months with the baby lying on my chest than I ever did at any other point in my life. Enjoy it.

Can’t believe ours is almost 2 now. I thought the first year went by fast but the second was even faster.

He’s also picked up his first cold/flu/hopefully not coronavirus this week so he’s in a state. Very tired (not complaining here) but an insane fever yesterday that we’ve got under control now (he was like 39.6 at one stage). His throat’s killing him though so swallowing is tough, which means he’s just on yoghurts and ice cream. Ends up gagging on anything more solid than that. He has a little cough too which doesn’t help matters, because it’s really sore when he does, so he gets into a loop of cough, cry because it’s sore, sniffle because he’s crying, cough because he’s sniffling and on and on

I'm going to stay top of the list as well when I tell you that my lad's always been a good sleeper at night. Other than waking for milk, he was good as gold.

The little man turned 1 today. Ridiculous.

Had a really good safari themed party for him which he loved but will never remember

Had to go back to hospital not long after I posted yesterday. His bilirubin count has skyrocketed, causing substantial jaundice that was enough to risk infecting his brain. It's also caused significant weight loss as it stops him from feeding properly.

They stuck him under a UV light in an incubator for phototherapy and there was no improvement 12 hours later, so now he's got two lamps on him. He could be in here for a week.

I'm just going to worry about this lad forever, aren't I.

That's parenthood tbh.

HE'll be okay - it's cliched af, but he's really in the best place.

Keep us updated.

5th birthday party for Zelda at the weekend. Her first one with school friends and all of that cos of covid gooseberry fool but it went well, it was dry so they got turfed out to the back yard only coming inside to top up their sugar levels. Parents were punctual picking everyone up, no fights, no tears and my cake got a few wows, so I call that a win!

Kids are amazingly tough, fingers crossed your lad feels better soon.

And yes. You're going to worry forever.

Hope he’s out soon and back home.

Yep, that’s parenthood!

I had to try and perform the Heimlich manoeuvre on my 6ft 13yr old on Sat as he was choking on some chicken at dinner time. Ended up slapping his back hard many times to dislodge it. That was a scary 20-30 secs

Thanks for the support guys — he was discharged yesterday evening and had a pretty good night. There is a bit of yellow back in his eyes this morning, so we're just desperately hoping it doesn't shoot straight back up again.

My wife finally managed a sleep longer than 2-3 hours last night, her first since Thursday the week before last, so at least that's something as I'm pretty sure she had half lost her mind!

Not good :dread: I remember how paranoid my mum always was about choking when I was growing up. I sort of assumed the main risk would be over by the time they're 13!

Good to hear he’s home. Hopefully that’ll be the end of it and you can all settle into some kind of routine as a family
