Zelda turned 2 yesterday, had a party at the weekend, she strawberry floating loved the attention. She got a toy hair dryer from her grandparents and every time we ask her do do something now she has to do her hair first. "Can you put on your shoes" "Me do my hair". "Can you pick up your toys" "Me do my hair". "Sit down and eat your dinner" "Me do my hair". I had to change the battery in it last night, 2 days and she drained it. :fp:

Shave all her hair off whilst she is sleeping, problem solved.

State of that carpet. :dread:

Seriously though, nice job on the fort. My lot went through a real fort building phase earlier this year, every weekend there would be blankets all over the shop!

Turns out they are too tall, have redesigned them to be sorter and stronger as well as building a arm between them.

And yeah the carpet is a state, it's all on the to replace list but as littleun is 2 I figured anything new will be strawberry floated pretty quick so might as well wait a bit.

Redesign is a bit more successful, still needs a bit of ballast adding to the feet but otherwise not bad

I put CBeebies on for Jacob but he doesn't always pay attention and never for very long. He quite likes Teletubbies. I quite like How It's Made, partially because my wife doesn't like the grown up versions of those programmes so I never watch them, and partially because of Maddie Moate

His favourite thing is picking a book and handing it to me to read so he's clearly not buying the TV as a viable parental substitute despite my best efforts :slol:

Ella has gone absolutely mad on Roblox. She keeps running up to my partner saying "look at this!" or "wanna watch me do this?"
Yesterday she ran out of her room at full speed at us and said "You both NEED to see this!" It was a room full of Shrek stuff  She knows us both so well.

I get a little worried with her being online, although I have parental controls on my side just in case (family link), and she knows not to talk to anyone she doesn't know online. (Her friends have given her their usernames so she knows who she's talking to on there). She also knows she has to complete any homework she has before she's allowed to be on her tablet unless her homework is on it. I get a little paranoid these days with who she could be talking to online, although I know she's a sensible kid. I've told her she can't get social media til she's at least 13, and even then she probably won't be interested at looking at what foods people are eating or what they're doing (I'm trying to put her off ever having it).

Oh god don't talk to me about Bing - my daughter (just turned two) is obsessed. Yesterday she demanded carroty bagels :|

I was quite pleased when we found it on Amazon Prime, but now she knows it's always available it's all she ever wants to watch :fp:

So monday night. My child goes blue and has a seizure. The most terrifying thing ive ever experienced. His temp was 40 degrees and we had to be rushed to hospital.

He has tonsilitus and now has antibiotics but jesus christ i was terrified.

He is now a sweaty mess. But hopefully on the mend.

Glad to hear it's nothing serious and that he'll be alright, man. I can fully relate to the sheer terror you experience when your child appears to be *really* ill. Horrible stuff.

I really feel for you mate. There is nothing more terrifying than something like that happening to your little one. I hope he continues to get better and back to his normal self.

My lad needed an operation just over a week ago, we knew it was coming but in the build up to it I was an absolute mess for days before it. He is fine and is back to himself now, but it was a horrible time.

It's horrible isn't it? My son has a heart condition which means he has this kind of reaction on a semi-regular basis and it never stops being a truly frightening experience.

Hope he's doing better now and that's the last of it!

My brother had the same thing happen to him when he was small, it took about a week for him to recover but he was back to his annoying self in no time. I hope your child gets well very soon!

Thanks guys, second day of medicine, he isn't much better yet, perks up towards the evening but as a whole has been walking around the house just generally crying and being miserable all day :( Fingers crossed for some improvement tomorrow, everyone tells you about the great stuff, nobody tells you about the terrifying, you cant do anything to help them stuff.

He’s ok now, back to his normal manic self.

He had a problem with his teeth, basically a load of them came through with no/little enamel. Which caused them to very quickly decay and were causing him pain. They had to take 8 of them out (mostly from the top) and because he’s so young, it had to be a general anaesthetic.

The day of the operation was horrific, poor lad was in pain, bleeding and just crying all day. The day after he looked like a professional boxer had smashed him in the mouth.

But he recovered quickly and it doesn’t seem to bother him at all now.

The whole thing just made me feel so irrationally guilty on top of the worry of the operation and the sympathy for his pain. We’ve never let him have fizzy drinks. Rarely does he have chocolate. He never has sweets. We brush his teeth at least twice a day. And we still look like awful parents.

I’m getting over the guilt/upset but it was a really tough time.

Glad he's better! Ollie is still asleep. Much better night so hopefully he's on the mend. The guilt thing is the worst. On monday the doctor had to look at the back of his throat. So i was pinning down a 16 month old on a bed at half 10 at night. Fml. And giving him antibiotics 3 times.a day and nurofen and calpol 3 times each a day is fun too..ffs.

Cheers guys.

I am glad Ollie sounds like he is on the mend. Pinning kids down to give them medicine is horrible, one of those things that they just don't understand and makes you feel terrible even though you are being nice.

Calpol is a wonderful medicine though, I don't know how we would have coped last week without it.
