Nice one, was the movie any good? I quite enjoyed watching the first Shaun the Sheep movie with my lot when it came out so it would be nice to get along to this one as well!

Yeah I thought it was great. If you like sci-fi movies then you’ll spend most of it spotting references.

I’m annoyed I paid online before we left though (£12.40!), when we got there the only staff member was selling popcorn and we walked in with nobody checking we’d paid. I could have got a freebie!

But at what cost? Think of the example you'd be setting to your son :capnscotty:

A good one? They have to learn how to cheat and steal at some point.

Weve been taking Zelda to see movies in the cinema since she was about 18 months, we go pretty regularly and I have to say theres rarely an issue. She did get cranky right at the end of Incredibles 2 and she plain hated Duck Duck Goose but that was shite anyway so cant blame her for that. Saw Addams Family at the weekend and she seemed disinterested but liked the music over the credits and said she loved it and is now trying to click her fingers so she must have gotten somehting out of it.

The little man might be a different proposition, she was always calm and easy going but hes a terror who wants to be moving and doing something all the time, getting him to sit though a movie in the cinema might be a huge task altogether if he keeps that up.

17 months old. Christ, where has my baby gone.

Please tell me some of you had trouble with the baby sleeping... She is the lightest sleeper and so needy at night.

Aww!

Our trouble is getting him to sleep, he just will not go to sleep until midnight or later. Then he won’t wake up until 9 or 10 in the morning. That’s fine on weekends but a pain in the arse on worknights and when we have to get him up for nursery.

I can’t complain too much though, once asleep he normally stays asleep.

I was bad dad yesterday. I took my son to my grandmother’s house and he was happily watching cartoons on her iPad. My brother and nephew (4 years old) showed up and there was a little stand off as my son refused to hand over the iPad when my nephew wanted it. We cooled things down by telling my nephew we would be going soon and he could have it as soon as we left.

My son then got up and wandered out of the room. Thinking he had gone off to find some toys, I handed the iPad over to my nephew. If he isn’t watching it, then it is only fair!

My son then came back into the room with two bottled drinks. Seeing my nephew with the iPad, he threw the drinks down and ran off crying. Luckily the drinks were unopened!

I went after him and asked what was wrong. In between the tears and sobs, I realised he had left the room to get a drink for himself and one for my nephew. He was doing something really nice! And stupid old dad then went and betrayed him.

I felt terrible.

I'm gonna be an uncle again... hoorah!

It's a lovely feeling albeit - and I really want to choose my words carefully here - a challenging one, too, as we also know that the lad is gonna have Down Syndrome. Obviously we're all thrilled and excited but there is also a degree of uncertainty as we don't know what impacts the wee guy will have to work with. We won't gain an understanding of this until he arrives and starts to develop.

We will all love him to bits but, yeah, I'm hoping that any potential challenges are not too impactful and can be overcome.

Congratulations on becoming an uncle again Jawa, I can imagine it must make everyone in your family feel nervous as it will be a challenge, but as you said hopefully these will be overcome. I'm sure being in a loving and supportive environment will be a big benefit for the little guy.

My kid would wake up about every 2-3 hours in the night until just a few months ago as my wife was still breastfeeding him and it was impossible to get him to stop drinking at night (we waited too long). Now he's been weened off totally he sleeps (and eats) much better.

I'm actually wondering what we're going to end up doing with sleeping as right now we all just sleep in the same bed, and I don't think that will be an option for much longer as my wife is pregnant again ( :toot: ).

Hey, thanks, Rightey! Yeah, it's the unknown challenges that bring a degree of worry, but we're just focusing on the fact that a new guy is on the way :-) .

Tonight we got an email from the director of the nursery my daughter attends saying it has closed its doors as of today. Just days after they took full payment for February.

Worse still, I just learnt that they didn't pay their staff for January, so they've run off with that money too.

Check out my YouTube channel!

He loved it, flying as the bird, seeing bears/sharks/wolves and climbing “castles”. I just had to cover his eyes and snatch the controller whenever we were attacked.

Hi everyone. Guess what, we have the worst timing in the world. My wife is currently 8 weeks pregnant in the midst of the worst public health care crisis in my life time. We've waited ten years for this since having our son. Numerous tests showed that we were both very fertile and repeated medical professionals could never explain why we couldn't get pregnant. Anyway, yay for us!!!!
