I really don't think it's bad advice at all. You need to cover yourself for the future, and the faster you act now, the easier it'll be.
I'm not saying slap the divorce papers in front of her, I'm saying talk to a lawyer for their advice on how best to proceed. Hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.
Plus she cheated on him. That suggests she's untrustworthy and thus I wouldn't want her anywhere near our money.
