Superb finale! I liked that it was longer and thus slightly slower paced, but I can see why that would be annoying if watched in the US with ads every five minutes.

Overall, I really enjoyed this season.

I thought the season was great overall after few shaky episodes early on. Sutter needs to either pare back the running length to 45 minutes like it used to be or make better use of the hour long episodes.

Completely disagree with the AVclub slaughtering of the finale.

Regarding Unser you do know he is hopelessly in love with Gemma and would never go against her? One of the crying scenes that actually looked legit, Jax has gone from good actor to pretty amazing this season. Juice did the right thing as he wanted to help Gemma out but I don't think he could foresee jax being there.

Well, I decided to catch up since I had already watched half of the season. Pretty much every episode was painfully bloated, especially the finale. The second half the season was a big improvement on the first, and I appreciate that certain threads have finally been sewn up. But getting to those major moments was such an interminable slog and even there, there was something strangely hollow about them. I really hope next season they find a better sense of focus and FX clamps the strawberry float down on their episode lengths although obviously that isn't going to happen considering how well it does for them and I imagine they'll give Sutter whatever he wants to wrap it all up.

Great stuff from Maggie Siff I have to say. I hope she doesn't waste any time in getting back into TV.

It was ridiculous and flat out bad writing that no one thought it might be a good idea to pick up a phone and call Gemma and fill her in, thus avoiding the slaughter.

In fact, there was a lot of stupidity that I didn't even pick up on until reading this: http://www.hitfix.com/monkeys-as-critic ... thers-work

And the dove at the beginning, strawberry floating hell. :fp:

Sons Of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter has lined up his follow-up series to the hit FX drama, and it is as far from SOA‘s contemporary Central Valley biker community as they come (but probably just as violent). Sutter has teamed with Imagine’s Brian Grazer for The Bastard Executioner, a period drama project that has received a pilot greenlight from FX. Bastard Executioner tells the story of a warrior knight in King Edward III’s charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all. “I love the network. I love the world. I love the blood,” Sutter said. He will write the script and executive produce with Imagine’s Grazer and Francie Calfo for Fox 21 and FX Prods. through Sutter’s overall deal with Fox 21 parent 20th Century Fox TV, where Imagine TV also is based. Sutter is expected to start working on Bastard Executioner when he wraps the upcoming seventh and final season of SOA, with filming of the pilot slated to begin late next year.

Anyone seen he and his wife's tirade against on twitter that didn't like the finale? It's nothing unusual if you're used to Sutter's childish antics but I didn't expect Segal to be just like him.

That's Sutter calling a fan a dumb fat banana split.

And then his wife...

Insecure children. :dread:  They cannot take ANY criticism of the show.

FX announced today that the last season of the Kurt Sutter-created series will start up its motor on September 9. The seventh season of the show will begin with a 10 PM 1-hour and 45-minute episode. It’s going to be very rockstar on SOA this coming season with Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson joining the cast in recurring roles. The Season 7 debut will be followed by a live post-show Anarchy Afterword. The post-show will also air after the very last SOA later in the season.

Hour and 45 minutes. :dread: That translates to about 70 minutes real time minus ads right?

15 of those minutes will be montages and another 5 an exclusive song by Katey Segal.

Just watched all of season 6 over the last few days. Wasn't that brilliant in honesty, only a few stand out moments. So many gooseberry fool characters, so few good ones remaining.

There's a trailer for the next season here if anyone wants to watch that:

I think Gemma's more likely to kill herself.

Colbert's interviews are infinitely more interesting/funny. I'm really gonna miss the show when it ends. :( Not long now....

[edit] Well gooseberry fool. This doesn't belong in here, does it?

That was a brilliant start to the season. Loved it!

I initially thought Gemma was setting up Juice as Tara's killer, but now with Jax thinking he has already got his revenge I guess Juice is the only way Gemma's secret can be exposed.
So I reckon the club will find Juice and he will spill the beans before they kill him
