You're 71 pages in, so not very far at all really

Interesting. I've only been reading in short bursts, and I think my progress says 8%, so I was expecting less.

ACOK spoilers: just got to the first Theon chapter. Bloody Greyjoys, they're going for Winterfell, aren't they. :x Bran will crush those pathetic fishmongers. 8-)

I've been re-reading the series and I've just started AFfC...

Interesting bit in ASoS (spoilers for all of those who haven't read the first 3 books) - Loras Tyrell's sexuality is hinted at by Littlefinger near the end of the novel, when he tells Sansa the reasons why Loras joined the kingsguard. That for Mace Tyrell finding land and marrying off a 3rd son (like Loras) is difficult, and 'doubly so' in Loras' case.

Yes it's not very obvious but reading it in light of the tv series made me think...

Lego Grand Theft Auto... You KNOW you would buy it.

On the third novel, and I know I shouldn't but...

... I like Jaime Lannister. His arrogance and cocky ways are awesome.

He's definitely one of the characters you love to hate and like at the same time.

There are plenty of other hints scattered around - once you start looking for them you wonder how you could have missed the subtext.

Page numbers don't make sense for an ebook. The page numbers would change depending on how you've got your kindle configured... Larger text, different fonts, double line spacing... It'd be so inconsistent as to be worthless.

It says "location" instead of "page" on the Kindle app for the iPad.

I still prefer use iBooks app but Amazon have a wider range and sometimes are cheaper. And it's much more universal than iBooks.

So technically both are good in their own ways. Just wish they would allow their ebooks to be synched to any ebook reader/device the user would prefer to use though. :x

You can actually use real page numbers. I've seen that option somewhere.

Lack of page numbers is a massive pain in the arse if you need to cite a reference.

Exactly. Even if you are viewing it different, it could still tell what the page would be on standard setting. You need page numbers and such for referencing in bibliographies.

Agreed. Him and Tyrion are my definitely my favourites in the whole series.

I'm waiting for the paperback to come out for the new one. Having to walk past Waterstones on Sauchiehall St with their MASSIVE window display most days isn't helping any.

Getting the hardback would ruin the set on my bookshelf though, so I'm staying strong.

Amazon has listed the paperback at £7.99 but no date yet.

I'm buying the hardback with an amazon voucher seeing as I don't want to have the book ruined for me by the internet! I'll probably get the paperback as well and give the hardback away eventually.

Getting about 1/3rd the way through Clash of Kings. All I can say is I love Tyrion. And Sansa is such a strawberry floating moron. (Just got to the bit where she goes to the Godswood to meet Florian. Also, could someone clear something up for me (unless adressed later in the book)- when Bran meets the mudmen and that chapter ends with the bit about (presumably) the Dire Wolves, is he dreaming or is it real?
