i'm getting near the end of book four. What a great series. Great to have caught up with 20 years of books since the TV show launched.

Getting the hardback would ruin the set on my bookshelf though, so I'm staying strong.

I'm getting the hardback of ADwD. I'm not expecting to receive it the week it's out though, Northern Ireland and it's stupid public holidays.

Actually, no, I can live with this. Northern Ireland 8-)

There'll be more about that later on.

Still reading Clash of Kings got to the bit where Arya has been taken to Harrenhal along with Gendry and Hot pie not expecting things to get much better for them any time soon.

Hopefully Book five will turn up this week. Can't wait

Please let there be a shorter gap between this and the next installment.

Word is that it's really great. There's some spoiler free reviews of it out there already.

However, the Germans got it two weeks early, and then other places as well, so the Internet is full of spoilers atm.

Could someone tell me why there's such a difference in the pricing of A Storm Of Swords here (warning: there's synopses that could very well be spoilerific in both links):

http://www.cdwow.ie/books/george-r-r-ma ... 11#bc=a805

http://www.cdwow.ie/books/george-r-r-ma ... 75#bc=a805

The collection I have so far is the same style as the book that's split into two and i'd like to keep it that way, but tbh the price difference of €15 is too much to turn down for the single volume.

Just over a quarter of the way through the first book now. It's so, so, good. Arya's my favourite character so far.

The typos are strawberry floating shocking, though. Did nobody proof-read this before submitting it to the kindle store?

Every eBook I've read has had typos to some extent.

None of the ones I've read do.

And neither do the two I've published on there.

Yeah, there was one case were I came across a sentence that did not make sense and then, rereading it a few times, realised it could only be explained by one word being mispelled.

From what I've read of it so far (about 60% by my estimate), the 2nd book is even better than the 1st.

There were almost no typos in the paperbacks, so I assume that's a problem with the scanning software.

Martin's use of semicolons drives me nuts, though.
