I reckon the next one will be 2015. He's only got about 3-4 years for the one after that, though.
That's if
FFC is 2015
ADWD 2016/2017
TWOW 2018/2019

That's my thinking.

I'm expecting WOW late 2015, we'll find out how ASOIAF ends from the TV show and read the last book five years after that.

I wonder how they'll able to follow the Bree going after the Hound and found out its an impostor? Remember that the impostor got his hands on the Hound's unique dog helmet. There is no sign of it (generally can't remember if it was ever shown in the TV series at all?!?!)

Presumably a lot of that stuff is going to get changed (which is strawberry floating gooseberry fool because it's some of the best parts). Rorge and Biter are already dead, so her stuff with them can't happen. The Hound's story is playing out a little different, and he doesn't even have a dog helm in this, so none of that can play out. I've even heard rumours that Brienne gets hanged at the end of this season, which if true is utter bullshit.

I'm pretty sure they're going to end season 4 with (Feast for Crows) Brienne's hanging as by killing off Rorge and Biter she's got nothing left to do in FFC. Of course Jaime is still like a season away from getting Riverrun to yield so I don't know what they're going to do there to link those two together.

I imagine Brienne will go to the Vale and spend some time running round the riverlands. Dont think she'll have a huge role in season 5.

I'll be interested how they re jig Tyrions, Jon's and Dany's roles into season 5 as they aren't in FFC.

They've shown they can move the timelines quite adroitly so i'm not too worried.

Also do we think Uncat is going to be the this season's cliffhanger?
Not sure myself.

They may not be in the book, but they're still doing stuff concurrently. Surely the TV show is going to mix the storylines into chronological order.

Definitely. I'm just intrigued as to how.

Essentially they'll be taking content from ADWD for season5 so it may be three seasons for both books but in a different order.

Tower of the Hand says it's the seventy-first chapter of ASOS/ the tenth Tyrion chapter in the book.

Someone on NeoGAF reposted (Storm of Swords) Ygritte's death scene.

"D’you remember that cave? We should have stayed in that cave. I told you so.”

“We’ll go back to the cave,” he said.” You’re not going to die, Ygritte. You’re not.”

“Oh.” Ygritte cupped his cheek with her hand. “You know nothing, Jon Snow,” she sighed, dying.”

4x09- I liked the episode and loved that tracking shot but was severely disappointed by the lack of (Storm of Swords) Stannis! Stannis! Stannis!

Next week has far too much plot by comparison:

- (Storm of Swords) Varys and Jaime freeing Tyrion and the Tysha story.
- (Storm of Swords) Tyrion killing Shae and Tywin.
- (Dance with Dragons) Dany doing something boring, maybe Drogon eats that kid already.
- (Storm of Swords) Stannis! Stannis! Stannis! I can't see them having time to do that and the election for Lord Commander.
- (Feast for Crows) Someone has to get hanged by Stoneheart, probably Brienne as they've cut out her entire FFC arc by killing Rorge and Biter.
- (Storm of Swords) Arya leaving Sandor to die and fleeing to Braavos.
- (Feast for Crows) Littlefinger creeping on Sansa and dealing with the Vale lords.
- (Storm of Swords) Balon Greyjoy is somehow still alive.
-(Dance with Dragons) They'll probably stick in a Bolton scene at Winterfell too.
-(Dance with Dragons) Bran's got to meet the Children of the Forest and Bloodraven.

The finale is apparently 67 minutes but that's still a lot to cram in.

(next week speculation)

I swear to strawberry floating god

I'm gonna be irritated if they don't get to Stoneheart. Next week is the first episode I'll get to watch with my brother as we'll both be home at the same time. He called me in tears after he saw the Red Wedding. He's going to lose his gooseberry fool at Stoneheart and I really really want to be there!

I reckon we'll get Stannis! Stannis! Stannis! but perhaps not the election. I reckon Dany won't be in it long, and we won't see Littlefinger/The Vale.

What I reckon/hope we'll see:

- Tryion escape + chamberpot
- Stannis! Stannis! Stannis!
- Dany chaining the dragons
- Hound bites it (pun intended... :shifty: )
- Bran and the Children of the Forest

Then hopefully it'll all wind down a little bit with Bran before Brienne and Pod are captured and thrown before Stoneheart. The last shot of the season is her pulling her hood back.

PLEASE :datass: :datass:

Seems like most of the FFC stuff is either getting cut or being changed to fit into chronological order.

Not sure how I feel about that.

I think they'll move Balon's death to next season as the way of introducing Victarion and Euron.

I think they have time to do

Tyrion's bit

Jon meeting Mance and then Stannis arriving. The commander bit may well be next season (fine by me) and Stannis's offer of Winterfell.

Stone heart

Arya and the hound.

Dany and Baelish can be dealt with in fairly short scenes.

How long will the ep be btw?

I think it's neccesary because of all the changes they'll have to make to fit in Jon, Dany and Tyrion who aren't in the book.

Its definitely for the best really as people who haven't read the books would be a bit confused why Dany, Jon and Tyrion weren't in the entire 5th season.

I'm glad I started the books shortly before ADWD was released as I imagine that was an awful wait, not that the current wait for the next book isn't painful enough.

At this rate I'll be in my 40's when/if the final book is published (I'm 32).

I was the same. I started the books after seeing the first season. I didn't know there was a delay till i got ADWD and my mate said "I'd take your time with that if i was you!"

I thought the red head died by falling off the wall in the books? I also don't remember the wildlings backing off.

IIRC, John finds her after the battle and she's been hit by an arrow but he doesn't know whose (except that he can tell it isn't his). I think for TV, it was much better doing it in the midst of the battle rather than during a lull in between attacks.

There is definitely a break in between attacks at some point and John does go to look for Mance which is when Stannis arrives...
