The US soundtrack is a complete and utter mess, there's no melodies whatsoever, it just sounds like a blind person mashing a keyboard.

It's a bit different to the average Sonic soundtrack, granted, and on the whole it's less melodious and not as good, but Sonic Boom is more epic than any JP/EU variant tracks, and there are some really nice pieces on the US track list:

Japanese / European soundtrack is better, but having a choice has to be a good thing. A bit of effort going into this re-release.

That first one just sounds like fashion store musak.

I'll stick to the JP version

I enjoy the jazziness and somewhat minimalistic nature of the better US tracks.

Much prefer Toot Toot Sonic Warrior to Sonic Boom.

The Saturn soundtrack is garbage, I love the MegaDrive one.

No, I just prefer Sonic to have music that suits its games. That orchestral-esque gooseberry fool just sounds wrong when Sonic does it, plus the Saturn tracks don't have proper Sonicy melodies to them. The MegaDrive version's music is a far more worthy successor to the great tunes of the earlier Sonic games.

Shame the special stage in the Megadrive game sucked.

OH YES I WENT THERE.

I thought it was fine, it did the job well enough without being as gooseberry fool as Sonic 3's rotating Casino Night thing (not the Blue Spheres or the epic electro-ball-fling, or the drop-down-bouncy-thing). The means by which one got there was awful though - having to search out Tails or Knuckles after acquiring 50 rings. That was a bit crap.

Also, it's 13th December. Soon it won't be 2011 at all. HURRY UP
