Some weird microtransactions though which I can't understand. It's like they've shot themselves in the foot. Will most likely buy anyway. :shifty:

Yeah wtf is this? I was hype till I saw that chart below. Why can't I get a complete edition of the game?

They included Metal Sonic and Amy in the trailer, but Sonic CD isn't part of the package :?

EDIT: Ignore me.

Yeah it is. The trailer showed the four games as Sonic, Sonic CD, Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Only way to get the complete one is preorder the digital deluxe version for some weird reason.

Interested to see what the situation is with the Sonic 3 soundtrack in this, perhaps that's tied to that premium content?

EDIT: Seems these are the Taxman versions going by what Era are saying, fans of Sonic Mania should be happy!

Seems the premium soundtracks include Chaotix and Sonic Spinball tracks, wish they would add the actual games to this collection as well.

What about the Sonic CD soundtrack? When the game was included in one of the Gamecube remake packs, it had a crappy alternative soundtrack which was completely different from the one i knew and loved.

On Xbox store the price for the digital deluxe version is £36.98, PlayStation Store is £36.99 and on Epic it's £39.99. Not showing on Steam yet.

"In game currency" and that pre-order matrix. Just strawberry float off.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Literally monetising camera controls and animations now.

Only Sonic 1-3 and CD?
Seriously?
None of the Game Gear or Saturn Games?
No 3D Blast?
No Sonic Spinball?
Not to mention the edition and microtransactions stupidity.

Don't think I'll bother with this. All hype just completely gone.

That release likely had the US soundtrack. The European release on the Mega CD used the Japanese soundtrack but the US release had a different soundtrack and that's what was probably used for the Gamecube collection.

For how little you actually get that's a complete rip off.

Nearly forty wraps for this remaster package feels pretty steep.

I *still* may have gone for it had it been a physical version... but as a seemingly digital-only release, I'll wait for a sale.

As someone who doesn't have strong ties to these games I've a hard time understanding why adding some minor QoL improvements - that don't make the games play any differently, except to let people move the map around (wow, what a ground-breaking novelty!) and play in a different aspect ratio - is enough to get people who've already played these games multiple times, in multiple different forms, hyped for more of the same.

And now the base game doesn't even include any of that, apart from... widescreen support, I guess? Such BS, honestly.

Not to mention Sonic 3 and Knuckles will probably not have the original soundtrack.

Whilst 3 has been remastered for this release, aren't 1, 2 and CD just ports of the mobile remasters that came out years ago?

Looking at the basic edition on Playstation it doesn’t say anything about the music but the Digital Deluxe version says something about a classic music pack & additional remastered music tracks.
