It's the green eyes that piss me off, did he start wearing designer contact lenses or something? Ridiculous.

I was buying a new school bag for my son at the weekend, the Mrs. Shadow had picked up a Mario one in Next which I thought looked a bit tacky, I then saw a Sonic one with a proper, fat, black eyed sonic on it!

He's blates the coolest kid in school now. 8-)

I don't see why you guys are moaning that Sonic has green eyes; it's not exactly game breaking nor flaw in design.

All I care if it plays like actual Mega Drive games, or at least close to. With Sonic & Robotnik being mute.

Hitler had green eyes*, I don't like playing as a Nazi propaganda hedgehog.

*I have no idea if this is true.

I was always sure that Eggman was a metaphor for the stereotype of the greedy jew, trying to steal all the money (Emeralds) from the German Heinhog.

Robotnik and black eyed Sonic were just normal though.

Green Eyes Sonic?

Who gives a flying strawberry float? It's not like you would be able to see it in-game!

Really? I thought he was always supposed to be a piss-take of Mario.

He's actually a pisstake of Theodore Roosevelt.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Well, of course that's what Sega are gonna SAY.

Green eyes or not, there's no denying Sonic looks gooseberry fool. He looks infinitely better in that fan art pic - better ears, better spikes, better eyes (the shape, not the colour).

Sonic's green eyes originally came from an issue of Sonic the Comic as a side effect of going Super for the first time.

Or so I heard :shifty:

Why does he do that finger pointing thing anyway?

Also, what's with the gloves?

And why is he blue?

Why is he called Sonic?

Why is he a hedgehog?

Why am I not as fast as Sonic?

Denounce the importance of green eyes if you want, but there's no denying that they came about at the same time as the series took a nose dive in terms of quality.

Sonic CD used the Sonic 2 engine, some of the level design was brilliant, others it felt like the game was doing too much for you and you weren't in control.

Dont get me wrong the level design was great, I just hated the time shifting... normally over and over in one level, kept having to slow down to prevent it which just cried out stupid for a Sonic game.

Has anyone played Sonic Chronicles?

I've just started it and I'm rather impressed so far
Still need to pick up Rush Adventure as well thinking about it.

Blue and green should never be seen.

Nope, they introduced the green eyes to tie in with Sonic Adventure (in the comic, Sonic's eyes turned green when he was exposed to the Chaos monster).
